Can't install EVE (running launcher gives error)

I've seen something similar waaay back 20 years ago in Windows 95 days, but I don't remember. Look at your environmental variables (`set` command) and check registry for possible misconfigurations. Otherwise, CCP is the only people that have access to installer source code. But from my experience with Qt, I don't think this is a problem with Qt itself. It looks like something is misconfigured on your end, but I will not be able to help you more specifically.

Here's a shot in the dark, but is there any possibility that it could be Steam interfering with the install? After all, I have Steam installed, but was trying to use the EVE launcher to install the game. It seems unlikely, but is there a small chance of that?
