Question about wormholes

Hello

Now ive been playing a very long time and I was very curious about the logistic problem a player could potentially face living in a wormhole so I have a few questions.

1. How do you get stuff in and out?
2. What is the best kind of WH to live in?
3. Is it actually a fun style of gameplay?

Anyway, sorry if this is the wrong section, can't think where else to put it

There is an entire forum called "Wormholes". I would suggest that you start there, as there are a few stickys on the top of that forum that will get you started.

There is a difference moving in solo versus moving in with an established corp presence, and depending on what the static is of the wormhole.

Whether this thread gets moved or not, reply once you go over those starter threads, it should help you immensely, or message me in game some time and I will help you out.

1. In a hauler.
2. Depends on what you are looking to do.
3. It can be.

By coming and going.

Depends. Some like the small ones, some like the big ones.

The big ones come with own unique set of risks though.

As long as you protect yourself and don't spew inside... it can be.

1. It all depends what volume you are trying to haul, small volumes then cloaky, nullified T3’s are good or a Blockade Runner. If you are trying to move a lot of stuff then a DST is a better bet. Moving stuff is not that hard providing you scout a good route and keep eyes on it. Wormholes being wormholes you won’t always have a good route to HS so make sure you can cope with that i.e. keep spare POS fuel just in case.

2. This depends what you want to do and how many people you have with you, if you give some idea on this people can help you better.

3. HELL YES – IMHO WH space is the best space in the game. No local is great, you have no idea who is out there so you need to be active, moving around and scouting, also if you are careful other people out there won’t know you are there too letting you set traps etc. The fact that you never know where your connections will go enhances the sense of exploration and excitement every time you log in.

I'm assuming you are talking about doing it with a group of people since it sounds like you are talking about actually living out there. Its not that hard to set up a POS and keep it fueled with in system resources. You just need to be ready to have strangers show up unannounced, which is what makes it fun.

Exit wormholes change and lead to God knows where. Sometimes by a trade huv, sometimes deep in null depending on the system. J space to j space wormholes as well. You can travel around and never leave j space technically. You just have to be ok with being stuck out there and making hauling runs when you can. Bring a scout and enough beer to chase away the space madness.

It should be a requirement that in order to live in a wormhole, you must be able to find the wormhole section in the forums.

Anyways:

1. Assuming you want to live there, you are looking at a hauler to bring in tower/supplies. T1 is valid for all sizes (inti M5), but T2 is better. I am also assuming you are looking for max cargo capacity.
- C1s the best you can get is a tech two hauler (non-cloaky ones as I am blanking on the name).
- C2s I think you can get an orca in. If not, you are still looking at a hauler like a C1.
- C3s you can definitely get an orca in. Still T2 is hauler is the best.
- C4s - For consistency you will still be using the T2 depending on the statics your hole has. Direct connections are not common enough to be considered.
- C5/6 - Same as C4. You will more than likely be coming through a chain, so T2 hauler is your best bet. Techincally, you can get a freighter in but that depends on lucky connections to low/null sec.

2. Depends on what you want to do and how many toons/corp mates you have.
- PVE Solo or less than 5 toons - C1 or C3 (not C2 due to extra connections) are probably the usual here due to ease of running the sites. C4s are also possible to solo with Mauraders but due to extra connections, you will spend more time rolling holes. C5s (and possibly 6s) are theoritically possible if you have a high bankroll and capital pilots. However, since you are asking in the forums for advise, I will assume you do not know much about WH life and therefore should not consider this option.
- PVE Group (more than 5) - C4s and up depending on corp skill level. Again, assuming the lower lever here, so C4 is as high as I would go till you know what you are doing.

- PVP Solo or less than 5-10 pilots- If you really want to BASE out of a wh, then I would advise C2 or C4. Both have dual statics for hunting in. The C2 would probably have easier logistics. Look for a hole with good statics. My personal advise would be C2 with a static high and a static C2 (easier logistics) or a C4 with either two C4 statics or C4/C2 static (good hunting).

- PVP Group (more than 10 pilots) - probably looking at the C4 mentioned above. C5/6 has better chances for cap kills, but the C4 will give you better hunting due to two statics.

3. Depends on you and your group.

1. How do you get stuff in and out?---Unblock it by eating the worm.
2. What is the best kind of WH to live in?---One in which the worm has been eaten.
3. Is it actually a fun style of gameplay?---It is if you like eating worms.

There are some C1's where you can get a cloaky hauler into. But it does present the larger point. If you can't cloak, don't go to J-space. Best to be able to fly a covert frigate (to look around), have cloaking 4 (for the covert ops cloak), and have your racial cloaky hauler (gas gets to be a lot of space. Salvage is small until you get an intact hull and boom, your frigate is full).

You can't get a tower AND all the mods into wh in one go with the cloaky T2. The cloaky T2 has **** capacity compared to the other T2. The Deep Space Transport is the best hauler for hauling large quanities of materials in and out of c1s.

The cloaking frigate is only necessary if you haven't scouted the hole, but if you haven't done that then you deserve to lose whatever you are hauling loot in.

I guess you could divide the T2s into this:

Small Volume/high value mods etc - T2 cloaky.

High volume anything - Deep Space Transport
