LOL I can see RvB doing this tbh. Blue sets one and Red the other both in the edge of said grid as to ensure that its always on a common grid set and make the grid a free for all. Would be one way to do a battle arena in any system really.

Make rules, no engaging within such and such of the undock or something. Or have team matches with both undocking at the same time. Lots of nifty things you could do with it really. It would ironically not only be good for something like RvB but intercorp or interalliance fights. Only difference is that others can always pile on no matter what.

I imagine the free for all will be at a neutral location between the two citadels. Will just one neutral location be enough, or will people decide on several neutral locations? is it more likely that they will include the undock as one of the places you can warp instead of having several arenas. I think the more popular choice will be to include the undock, not sure what the advantages of multiple neutral locations could be other than 'taking an objective' or 'warping off because your primaried'. I think one problem with undock is people can deagress so they can dock up, they dont have to continue fighting after having warped off

I think im starting to get a sense of what pvp might look like post-citadel, its almost like we are getting new 'highsec pvp mechanics' and "highsec war dec buff". Did not see this coming for some reason

Well I had a nice post drawn up and CCP in their infinite forum goodness just lost the entire thing.... I wont redo it all....Roll

TLDR use anchored cans to limit around a citadel.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

The Citadel equivalent of Count Duckula's castle. Big smile

Now that memory takes me back.

Years ago there was a huge thread on "hive ships", influenced from the rumors around the Minmatar "Sky mother". Basically a ship that can jump once a day (think of that strange castle from the movie "Krull" as an example).

Only Monty Python would put two castles close enough together that they can then fire on one another. Your "castle" was in the midst of a rather huge ESTATE. I think the ESTATE was the object, not the castle. It had the game, forests, ore...water. The castle wasn't the point. It's the point to children who have scant understanding of how the world functions.

Nice idea...in a cartoon.

To elaborate further, the contents of the castles spewed out onto the open ground was how issues were contested. To fall back into your castle meant you either lost in the field and were seeking a final refuge, or you were not prepared adequately to take the field and your opponent cornered you before you could escape.

Ask Sun Tzu: "...the worst policy of all is to besiege...."

If we get chased by zombies, I'm tripping you.

I actually thought it's something the Dwarfs and Greenskin would do to each other in Warhammer Fantasy. Dwarfs dug this huge hold into the mountain. Orcs see it as a challenge and build a giant fortress of stick, mud and stone right opposite. They fling munitions (and Orcs) at one another while at the same time keep on repairing and upgrading their stuff to outdo one another.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

Sounds like a late-game, 4v4 Warcraft III tactic.

Humans would use a mechanical critter, or an invisible peasant and run into an enemy town. An Archmage then mass-teleports a heap of peasants to the collapsed goldmine, usually at the rear of the town, and rush-build a town hall. Rest of allies (and the Human's other heroes/army) could then portal to it and take the base from the inside out.

Peasants then start rush-building towers, inside the enemy base.

I've been on both the giving and receiving end of this tactic. gudtymes!

It takes 24 hours to place the Citadel. If your enemy agree with your citadel - no problem. Otherwise you will have hard time defending the 24 hour vulnarable structure.
