Eve updates is made of win. So much easier with pictures, summaries, instead of wading through months of patch notes.

Political changes still require player input, but now we can link eve updates with confidence.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

Yea, that is pretty cool. But I still came back and thought, "Who the F is CODE?"

True, for the more in depth information about who is who, who kills who and who likes who, you have to either ask or read up on the newspages EVE has (evenews24, tmc.com, etc. etc.)

I've been away for nearly a year and recently returned, and I have no clue who is still in null-sec and who lives where there etc.

Not that it matters much to me as I have little interest in going there atm, but stuff might change and then I just have to read up on who sounds interesting to join.

CCP made ganking harder, so gankers had to get more organized and more professionalized about their services. This then attracts more people to the job.

Enter CODE.

You need to learn basic EVE skills.

Start small with EVE gate:
https://gate.eveonline.com/Alliance/CODE._
Whoa! Lots of info there.

DOTLAN is a bit more advanced:
http://evemaps.dotlan.net/alliance/CODE.
Note that they are only 9 corps, 405 members, and don't hold sov.

EVE Who is the next step-up:
http://evewho.com/alli/CODE.
You can see most of the members.

zKillboard is a small step from there:
https://zkillboard.com/alliance/99002775/
Hmm ... they seem to kill entirely in hisec, with losses mainly to NPC enforcement (CONCORD, police, navy).

Then there is Google:

Yea, that's pretty much what I did. I just have a threshold, and once I saw CODE references a few more times than Sabriz's sig, Like 10 capsules warping to gate in HS and other mini-events, I did the google route.

But it all started with the question--"Who the F is CODE?"

When players ask what is new, no one comes along and says, "Well there is this new group called CODE...."

Like I said, political changes aren't so easily looked up before you become aware of them. Can't look up CODE without being aware of CODE. After I became aware of CODE, Yea, I made use of references. Normally when I come back and ask what's new politically, people just point at the sov map.

CCP didn't really make ganking harder. For a very very short period of time you could get insurance payouts for loosing your Tier 3 Battlecruisers to concord. It was the equivalent of loosing a Battleship DPS wise for the cost of a BC and then get reimbursed for the loss.

The risk versus reward scale on that was so broken that CCP had to nerf it back to something more consistent with how things were prior to the new BCs and dessies revamp. All that CCP did was bring ganking back to something closer to what it was historically.

If you look at what it cost to insure a BS and fit it and factor in the payout and then look at what it cost to buy and fit out the tier 3 BCs after without insurance the two numbers are very close to each other.

If you want to gank then gank I'm not trying to take that away from you. I'm just saying that ganking never got nerfed just put back to where it was a very short time prior to that. CCP is very pro exploding spaceships. To say anything to the contrary, to me, just seem ridiculous.

The one - the ONE - thing that has not changed in the meantime is that my moustachio and I are still fabulous and still love a good chat :)
