With multiple clients, my disconnects ripple across all accounts in short order. So for me the issue seems IP-oriented and not per account.

So that would tend to say any hosting site issues are load-balancing or security oriented. Or perhaps IP reaching a bad packet threshold within 5 minute time frame (maybe first 5 minutes or maybe later 5 minutes). Independent per account disconnects would have tended to say instead that its server-side process mis-configuration maybe even login security synchronization related.

On the other hand IP-orientation seems just as likely to be offsite during connection routing. A CCP ISP router issue for the new location would seem to be quite suspect.

But don't rule out that some ISP middle man a few steps up the chain is the one with the router issues. EVE probably produces enough traffic that nearby ISP upstream routers are seeing significant new traffic flows that may trip new reactions. Like too many bad packets or other QoS from neighbor router or network x.y.z

I assume CCP and its ISPs are checking to see if increased disconnects are region or router specific.

LOL - has CCP checked if disconnects are specific to constellations within EVE or account/character aspects like creation date? I can see that big database conversion might have a lingering unsuspected bug for say accounts (just for example) belonging to NPC holding corps.

P.S. The 5 minutes exact disconnect sounds more like shared cache loading or checking issue though. I mean there are a very limited numbers of logon initiated procedures that are allowed to stretch out for 5 minutes. Most frequently my disconnects are either pretty immediate (faster than 5 minutes) or much longer than 5 minutes. But I have not been really timing.

Is todays extended node outage for Sankassen due to Tech III growing pains? (configuration not fully tweaked).

Normally star system crashes are only a few minutes while they error check the last data and reload on another blade/CPU. Or the whole server crashes not long after.

But this outage star system outage has been gone on over an hour I think (didn't think to note start time). Yet the number of total EVE logins seems stable such that it does not appear that the rest of the system is coming down. So fairly unusual.

Not sure how widespread this is since I cannot login to gameplay to chat or roam about.

maybe a comment about this issue or expected resolution is appropriate.

My clients disconnect in 5 minutes if I'm inactive (sitting in POS) or if i have both clients logged in. If I only have 1 client open and I'm active, than I may not disconnect at all. It just makes no sense!

Is anyone getting closer to understanding this problem? Or is everyone still guessing?

mine is the same however I can't undock at all on any of my accounts wihtout disconnecting and I haven't been able to play eve since the start of March and my support ticket has been unanswered since the 5th. It's just not good enough tbo.

Yesterday, I had a particularly funny socket closed disconnect: It happened to one of my freighters and the webber alt. The webber disconnected with socket closed but the freighter remained unaffected. Upon checking my freighter, I noticed that the webber alt was still in the fleet with the freighter. When I tried to kick the webber, I got a Invalid Package Destination error on the freighter and also got repeated IPD errors when I jumped some gates.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

And I just had 2 Socket Closed disconnects on both of my online chars, one was in space orbiting and linking a command node, one was sitting in station. So still not solved at all.
