Soter, have you really fallen this far since we were comrades in arms?

How have you managed to **** off both sides in the pissing contest?

Never not badpost.

As our Squid mouthpiece has so vociferously demonstrated: this is a Caldari commotion. We expect them to resort to this kind of mewling propaganda after so many years of losing to us on the battlefield.

Now, even more than ever, I want to know why the Federal Navy is silent in the face of this even more blatant provocation.

As for yourself Soter, I'll leave you to your baseless crowing here on the Intergalactic Summit. Given your almost legendary record of incompetence of command, I'm sure the rest of the Federal Defence Union will agree with me that this is where you belong, firmly away from any form of environment in which your idiocy could cause actual harm to competent military personnel.

In the mean time, I'll be back on the front line.

Well Soter I believe I, and others stand vilified, I suggest you take up my suggestion and stick to moonlighting on the streets of Callie were you'll do less harm to your superiors.

To Hikemi Korrado, my applause go out to you and the Caldari Navy in combating these parasites of the Gurista Cartel, clearly a action the FDU nor the Federal Navy is unable or the more likely of options simply to lazy to do so. I wish you all the success in your ongoing efforts.

Soter is many things, but he's hardly been plumbing anywhere near the depths of idiocy, incompetence, embarrassment and more that we see on a damn near daily basis on these boards from a rather large selection of psychotic eggs. This is needlessly churlish on the part of these mouthpieces and I am forced to question what might be behind it.

Well maybe you could petition them to see if the quoted limitations of the EMWPA are, infact, true?

No, he is not expressly incompetent, true, but he is loud and irritating and that sort of thing does tend to get a lot of scorn heaped upon the perpetrators. He is also important enough to warrant responses to his ramblings more often than others, being the head of a very large and prominent FDU alliance, so when he says something stupid or annoying it's more likely someone will take notice and try to put him in his place.

Public relations is a fascinating realm.

Certainly.

Still, breaching his own government's operational security, and then later saying that he wears the FIO response as a badge of honor... that is a certain type of special.

Recent news reports and Caldari Navy messages indicated that there was a significant engagement inside the Akidagi system, near the stargate leading to the Enaluri system, in the Ishaga constellation of Black Rise.

The Caldari Navy incorrectly identified this system as Caldari territory. Most recent strategic maps indicate quite the opposite is true, and the Gallente Federation has firm control over this and all adjacent low security space. This is an escalation that goes against the spirit of the Caldari State's participation in the EMERGENCY MILITIA WAR POWERS ACT, and will generate great concern amoung the Federal Defense Union private military contractors. We will take all necessary means to defend Federation territory from unwanted Caldari intrusions of this kind in the future.

As loyal supporters and defenders of the Federation, the Villore Accords and her allies request a formal explanation from the Federation Navy why it was a Caldari task force, not a Federal one, that intercepted this convoy, and why the Federation allows the Caldari State to police territory that has been won through rights of liberation and conquest.

The Caldari State has seen fit to release an unclassified press release regarding the subject. I see utterly no reason why the Gallente Federation, the greatest democracy in New Eden, must remain silent on this issue.

Soter,

Given that the press conference that sparked your comments was handled by myself on behalf of the Caldari Navy after requests from The Scope and Echelon Entertainment for comment on the contact that occurred, I'm quite happy to offer response after conferring with my counterparts in the State Protectorate.

While you may feel that your organization has some form of claim on the region of Black Rise and its systems due to the EMWPA, I can assure you that while "control" of some systems may be contested, the sovereignty of Black Rise and its constituent systems remains firmly in hands of the Caldari State. A change of control does not equal a change of citizenship for those who were raised in the State, and as such the Caldari Navy will continue to operate within Black Rise, protecting citizens of the State from aggression at the hands of the Federal Defence Union.

I will also offer warning in advance that it's very unlikely the Federation Navy's office of press will indulge your request. This is for two reasons.

Firstly, FEDCAF have no jurisdiction in Black Rise and act with limited power under the same legislation that affords the FDU limited freedom to operate in designated areas of Caldari sovereign space. This legislation is the EMWPA, to which you have only limited access as a commercial pilot and private contractor in order to explain your rights and limitations under Interstellar Law.

Secondly, you were personally disavowed by the leadership of the Federal Intelligence Office on the grounds of incompetence of command a little under three years ago. Need I say more about your level of competence when it comes to military matters, or those of strategic importance?

That said, this type of response from the Caldari Navy is rare and in reality, is catered more for those loyal to the State. My message to those loyal to the Caldari people is simple:

The Caldari Navy stands with you, shoulder to shoulder, as a shield for the people of the State. You have our most profound gratitude for your selfless defense of Caldari borders, and your actions in the space beyond where Interstellar Law limits our reach and our ability to protect those outside our jurisdiction.

While the Federal Defence Union sit idle on their laurels, beating their chests, demanding statements and pushing propaganda, let your weapon be swift and decisive action, the same as the Caldari Navy's in Akidagi this week.

Your interjection on this matter is appreciated, Commander Korrado. Hopefully, this lays to rest the current issue and clears up confusion about the citizenship of those of us who were born and live in Black Rise.

The people of Asakai Prime, the wider Kurala constellation, and the entire Caldari Militia Coalition stand ready to defend the sovereign territory of the State, as always.

Hikemi Korrado,

You, madame, are a mewling coward and a liar. Your insults are the whimpering of an often defeated foe without the grace or honor to be worthy of mutual respect. On the front lines? Never once have you flown in an engagement against Villore Accords forces. If you had, or if you bothered to consult publicly available combat records, you might see that Villore Accords Alliance is currently ranked above every State Protectorate Alliance in its combat effectiveness.

If that is what you consider a "legendary record of incompetence of command," then what shall we think of your people?

And another thing: you don't speak for the Federal Defense Union, and the very idea that you would purport to do so is outrageous.

With contempt,

Ayallah, you were saying about Sovereignity?

I said specifically "Capsuleer controlled" for a exactly this reason.

Utari Onzo wrote:
Tell that to the Empire, Soter, who dutifully beat back Blooder raids on its citizens and holdings despite several of those systems being under the "rightful sovereignty" of the Republic at the time.

Do you honestly think all four signatories would totally, and completely, allow for full sovereignty of all assets in a system to be under the whims of Capsuleers? You think the system allows Baseliner populations to have innumerable changes of citizenship and which authority is taxing them this week? Get real.

You said sovereignty, not me. I was just getting the facts straight when it came to galmil. I hate them and I hate black rise but at least be honest about them.

Oh! I can answer this! The good representative of the Caldari Navy probably wants to remind us that we are unchained dilettantes who have never sworn an oath of service to a faction and, on the occasion that we actually deign to do a job of work, we usually demand the pay of a Naval squadron and enough glory to embarrass a Federal Navy Admiral.

I hesitate to speak on behalf of the Federal Navy representative, but I believe they grew tired of Julianus carrying on as if he held some sort of an official position within the Federation, instead of a militia rank.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

And then there was that time he publicly posted details of a call to arms from Federal Navy command before the operation was underway, with potential negative ramifications for that operation.

A FIO administrator then denounced him in no uncertain terms. While I'm sure you and I are of similar opinion on the Black Eagles, it nonetheless stands that Soter broke operational security and then complained about not having received the solicitation directly, very precisely establishing why FIO hadn't trusted him with sensitive information in the first place.

If I may point out, the borders of the Gallente Federation and Caldari State have been drawn after the peace treaty of YC 12. Since then, the Provist radicals, who caused equal disruption to the State as they caused to peace all across New Eden, have aspired to create a new war between our two nations.

Fortunately, we have reached an armistice again but sadly militant factions within both our nations keep waging war which inevitably causes suffering for the many civilians who want nothing more than simply live a life in those regions we now call the border zone. Some of us are dedicated defenders of those civilians, and I count myself among them as much as I consider many of my Caldari peers to be as well.

With that being said, I will state here that I disagree with my commander-in-chief that this is a reproachable incident. In fact, I congratulate the Caldari who stepped up to contain the pirate menace.

Fortunately, as an officer in the Gallente Militia, I am free to express such a dissenting opinion.

I am not a friend of the current Federation government, and I wholeheartedly wish that our sister civilisations will eventually bury the hatchet and join together again for a better future. The leaders of Ishukone Corporation provide a great example of the possibilities that lie ahead if only we bury the past. In the last election I have voted for Shailee Ramnev because I saw her as a candidate who had the potential to re-unite us again.

However, I am not only here to speak for peace between our nations. In this thread I have seen snide comments of the Amarr Empire's lapdogs from Curatores Veritatis. Many Caldari may feel bolstered by support from their Amarrian "allies", but make no mistake. The Amarr way of life is as alien to yours as it is to ours. I know that I am speaking against the majority opinion and I know that the harsh pragmatism of daily conflict often prevent us from seeing what we are really up against, but I would urge all Caldari and Gallente citizens to focus on the real threat: The Amarr. This hateful civilisation of imperialists would eradicate all the freedoms - corporate or civil - that we enjoy, and shackle us with their outdated religious strictures.

So let us not squabble about minor details for the benefit of the real enemy of both Gallente and Caldari values while they heckle us at their leisure.

As a free and democracy loving citizen of the Gallente Federation I fully support this statement. The Black Eagles are a blight on our society, but I am not surprised that Provist radicals would refer to them. After all the language of war and violent power-politics is all they understand.

Interesting that you mention the Khanid who have once themselves rebelled in defiance of the barbaric rituals the Empire endorses.

House Tash-Murkon is indeed a paragon of business acumen but it is no secret that many in the Empire look down upon them for not having a sufficiently "noble heritage", as if such things mattered many millennia down the line.

Kor-Azor is a strange example as it is lead by a noble who was broken by unspeakably horrific torture, and before that he was an examplar of the corrupt decadence that is riddling the Empire.

Our nation might be under the governance of a warmongering tycoon for eight years, but yours was effectively lead by a twisted cultist for many more and nobody noticed or cared until a mass-murdering psychopath took over who you regard as your saviour.
