Wormholes initiate looking for a corp in a C4 or C5

Hi Ti'El, perhaps I can help.

Wormhole groups are communities of players that are much like tribes. We tend to rely on each other- a lot, we have to trust each other- a lot, and we tend to share resources- a lot. The larger groups almost exclusively do things together and there's not much if any solo action aside from scanning and a few other activities.

Your original post asks to be part of that, but not part of it. To stand outside the group and use the security of their presence to solo C4 and C5 sites, use them to help manage your logistics, and such. It's a naive post from a person who hasn't spent a lot of time in wormholes, and that's OK.

A better post would be:

Quote:
Hi, I've been intrigued by wormholes for a while and am looking for a team to join. I'm willing to help run sites, scan chains, and with the daily chores of logistics, etc. I fly x type ships and while I'm a new-bro who is still learning about how much of Eve works, am really intrigued by the adventure of WH space and making some new friends.

Up till now, I have done [insert: high sec mining, mission running, low sec pvp, null sec fleet warfare, etc] and I like [insert: the steady isk income, the feeling of being a small cog in a vast machine, solitude of watching rocks disappear, etc] but I'm ready for a change.

Are any of y'all's corps here currently recruiting? I'm sure there's a good place for me to look for WH corps that are recruiting, can someone point me in that direction? If anyone has a minute, can you put up a note about what I should be wary of?

Thanks!
Ti'El

Wormholers are generally clannish and don't trust outsiders. I'm sure you'll find a home eventually though. =)

You sound like a really nice guy. I'll try to give you some advice-

First of all if you are new to wormholes- go in at the shallow end, look for a small- medium sized corp that live in a c2 with a static high sec. Preferably a c2 with a static c3 or c4 if possible.

Don't pay anyone a joining fee and don't bring in your most expensive ships. Start with a scanning ship/ hauler and whatever cruiser or BC they recommend for pve/ pvp.

Learn the ropes from the more experienced guys and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Once you have a few weeks / months under your belt- you'll be in a better place to make another decision- stay with your c2/ c4 corp or go deeper and try c5/ c6 wormholes.

I personally started with a c2, we had a great group that would chain collapse our static c4 for farming and pvp. You learn from the others that have been there and done it before.

If you need any more advice, contact me in game and I'll help with what I can..

Let me break down why your request is worrying

Ti'El wrote:

OK, but make sure you do your research, as wormholes can be very harsh.

Ti'El wrote:

Why C4 or C5? They are very different beasts.

Ti'El wrote:

So you want a farming corp, not a PvP corp, but you have demonstrated that you don't understand how wormholes are farmed. You could like in a C2 with a static C4 and farm the C4. You don't need to live in the hole type you want to farm.

Ti'El wrote:

You want the corp to provide the secure environment for you to farm, which is the worrying bit. No local has a lot of consequences, as you can't use it to know when to dock up or warp back to POS, like you can in K-space.

Questions I ask people wanting to join a Wormhole corp:

What research have you done on wormholes?
Why do you want to join a WH corp?
What will you be able to do for the corp?

i.e. What is it you want to do that the answer is 'in a wormhole'.

Do you want to make ISK killing NPCs solo?
Do you want to make ISK running pirate Relic and Data sites solo?
Do you want to make ISK killing NPCs as part of a group?
Do you want to explore and scout?
Do you want to PvP?
Etc, etc.

Players in Wormholes can make a lot of ISK, but you can also lose a lot of ISK. Incursions are better ISK with less risk, but Wormholes are much more fun.

Hi,
thank you for replying.

I'm currently out on nullsec, pursuing another project with a friend of mine. I've post phoned the wh idea for another time, but it still on my todo list.
I think that I will be joining or making an alliance with more wh corporations in the future as I already have a bunch of friend to fly with.

What will you be able to do for the corp? - Everything that's needed. Help the newbro's, be FC when there's no better FC around ( lol ) go fetch BPs to Jita, go on roams, I can do a lot of things.

Do you want to make ISK killing NPCs solo? - Yes.
Do you want to make ISK running pirate Relic and Data sites solo? - Probably but just for the fun.
Do you want to make ISK killing NPCs as part of a group? - Yes.
Do you want to explore and scout? - Rarely.
Do you want to PvP? - Yes, in small gangs and solo. I just love small gangs.

I can also fly carriers, do some basic mining and industry.

I'm working towards being able to survive on my own, hence this new project in nullsec.

I like WHs for the fun and all the difficulty associated with it.
I'm not afraid of losing ships if that's the price I have to pay to have fun!

My grumpiness is well known, don't encourage me kid.

I will help you out since you at the least seem like a genuine future salty prick.

Tip 1 - You almost never come right out and announce that you are a dirty Krab seeking like minded Krabs. This isn't Tinder m8.

Tip 2 - Find your Krab love, research some of the well known groups. Check their numbers against their KB stats and activity levels.

Tip 3 - Now that you have narrowed down who all the top Krab corps are (******* so many these days) then you jump into their pub chats and find the chief Krab recruiter.

Tip 4 - Profit.

Tip 5 - Shutup.

That said, draw your conclusions.

The tone goes from upbeat to defensive rather quickly...

You'll find no love on the wormhole forums if you mention anything related to care bearing, farming, cooperative... Easy, etc.

Well make you enemy number one because the majority of the Wspace people see you as the cancer that is killing Wspace. Not that farming and care bearing is a cancer, even the most elite people have 5 farming Alts in their own alt wormhole built to farm. We just see that as more of a nullsec attitude and we like dead nullsec attitudes.

... Welcome aboard....

1. You quite clearly have heard about the 120m/5mins in hero dread and want to do the same

2. No self-respecting corp will let you do this as this means you mass their static to go rat

3. If you want to do this, make your own corp and go do it, sure you will have no backup and it's risk/reward

4. If someone does let you join their corp and do this, they're probably going to awox you

Never thought about this, but makes total sense. Thank you. Wise words.

I saw somewhere that you could do an anomaly and by leaving some NPC ships there it would regenerate after a while, allowing you to continue farming the same anomalies, is this wrong?
If so, you don't actually would need to use the static to go to another system to rat there. And yeah, I know... Its a huge risk...

After having talked with some people I now see that the best approach would be fleet/team work rather than solo dreads/ marauders.

Btw, just to clear this out, I don't have a problem with team work... I love team work! I just usually find myself alone because I play outside most ppl timezones... And making fleets is complicated most times. :(

The wormhole sites have been changed recently and you cannot only kill the escalation wave and gtfo and let it respawn.

Game changer... Thanks! :) I'm not currently looking into wormholes. I have more experience with nullsec, I will continue to look out for youtube videos of wormhole corps and things like that tho. I love wormholes, but they are not yet for me.

This thread just proved that. I still have a lot to learn. Even nullsec is hard enough for me now.

Still have a long way to go!

Thank you for all you insights on this, helped me saving a lot of isk.

One huge queation still remains, how do you feel about scanning signatures and scouting systems?
Because you spend 70%+ of your time in wormhole space, doing just that.

Ive seen so many people move happily into WH space, only to find out they suck at scanning or downright simply hate it. Its the only way to make content, so you have no choice but to "love" it :P
