I think quite a few players are currently playing Eve without killboards and enjoying it just the same.

I can imagine it indeed as I was there. For the first two years there where no (widely used) killboards. Thanks to the mighty gankageddon and a serious lack of logistics, ships where exploding left right and center. I never really liked the idea to provide my enemies with an idea what ship I might field. Yet, I have to except killboards as the recruitment tool they are.

I don't know but I would love an ingame kb, zkillboard is nice but i could be an ingame supported feature ! that would be so sick

When I'm on a kb I usually am on the red part tho Pirate

I'm not a fan of any of the meta content, so I would be thrilled.

IMHO if the game needs it, it should be in the game.

What's a killboard? Shocked

All joking aside, killboards as number games are pretty weak. Poachers rack up massive kill stats against ships that can't adequately fight back, so it just makes everyone's numbers useless.

I've seen a couple of real attempts to try and sort that out but someone always complains about methodology, so as far as I'm concerned, killboards are only useful for letting me know who to give a tap on the shoulder to and punch in the nose for when they turn around when they jump me while doing my PvE stuff.

I don't have a sacred teapot... want one.

Had a Thrasher appear in one of our systems so I jump in my closest PVP ship, a Svipul. Never did catch him, he ended up at a POS which I thought was interesting. Not gonna name and shame but he whined about the unfair Thrasher vs. Svipul potential fight, (don't blame him) then asked why I wasn't combat probing, so I'm assuming he had already looked me up on zkill. I never looked him up..

Killboards are a necessary evil I guess.

I just use them to share kills with people who don't play the game any more. I make it a point to not look at my stats.

Isn't it true that every ship that is killed couldn't adequately fight back?

Should we all be in rookie ships space jousting at the sun?

I don't have a problem with killboards at all. But I do think that people's "share" should be max / participants.

there was no kill mails in the first year of eve (or so) the first killboard was made by bob when they fought phoenix. People had no issues with no killboards for the first year. i just don;t think it will ever go away.

I dislike killboards.

Plenty of times I've had people say "lol ur kb sux u must b **** m8".
Well, probably, since the only times I log onto my main are for fleet ops.

I'm playing for enjoyment, not maximized efficiency. I'm not flying internet spaceships as part of my investment banking degree.

No, and no.

By the marvelously simple and extreme logic you just applied, a T3 Cruiser vs. an unarmed shuttle is a fair fight.

Since you seemed to have missed my intent, I'm referring to taking throw away ships taking out some transport/miner and letting your buddies pick over the corpses, or popping PvE ships in LoSec/NullSec. Whatever you call it, the outcome was pre-determined before it started and it makes trying to find out real pilot skill really hard with just killboard stats.

I could imagine it and EvE would not die but...
KBs provide useful intel which would be missed. Sure, incomplete intel, but useful still.

I don't kill for fun or rank, but i use it for a quick history check. And so, i would miss it.
