They haven't even fixed the SMA bug yet, days after the last patch, and their announcing citadels already...

POSes are done for. We have been waiting for over a decade to get rid of their awful mechanics. Glitchy, clunky and downright fun-killers.

Finally the forcefield mess will soon be over for most of the basic functions before disappearing entirely from everyday gameplay.

Not today spaghetti.

POS's won't be removed just yet. There are other structures that will be coming out in addition to the citadels before they remove POS's.

As a player I was wondering, are citadels going to be corp owned or can I own one separate from the corp I'm in?

It is strangely they went silent regarding the rest of structures, things like observatory array, assembly array, drilling platforms and most important structure is POG (player owned gates). Are they coming in late release or they buried the whole idea ?

Lady Areola Fappington:  Solo PVP isn't dead!  You just need to make sure you have your booster, remote rep, cyno, and emergency Falcon alts logged in and ready before you do any solo PVPing.

By the way, will Citadels receive SKINs at some point in the future?

They haven't been silent. Those were always intended for later releases, over probably the next year. POG are actually the worst structure planned, opening new space just opens new monopolies to the current power houses if they haven't fixed the systems that make it so easy to just outblob your enemy and the top down income sources.
Space should be made denser with more to do per system, and therefore more people doing things per system. Not sparser. (Note, 15 stations is not dense, because they do not add more things to actually do, 1 station gives everything needed to do)

Why the hell hasn't that idea been implemented yet? CCP? Anyone? Falcon?

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

Probably estimated to take more effort than they were ready to commit to previously and wanted to ensure they had gameplay to replace POSes in place, which is now on the timeline.

Ok, for the life of me I swear I came across a page that stated POS's would be replaced with a medium citadel or has an implant malfunctioned?

I guess we are going to more about these next month during Fanfest.

Nothing of that kind has been stated by CCP yet.
So far they only said that you should take down your POS if its used for compression and storage/staging. Moon mining, research and manufacturing are not being done in this release.

Also waiting to see what CCP will do with the current POS. I doubt they will do a swap, half of the POS are offline and littering the universe with citadels nobody is using is just plain stupid. So they will most likely give a ISK refund, probably based on some stupid market value with everybody losing ISK left and right (speculation here).

Not quite sure why you think this about the POG. If you were to replace all the gates in nullsec by POG and have players actually figure out the connections between them (of course limited by range and number) then you might actually see less systems open to the public. A corp or alliance could decide to completely close off the system, only have it open to cyno and wormholes (wormholes are random so they can always occur). Would make for a interesting meta game.

And the cost to maintain and build all the gates currently ingame is staggering, so many systems will be left open for grabs.
