Recent news has laid us on an interesting path. With the Society of Conscious Thought’s recent rise to the halls of power, and their statement on coming to an understanding with the Vigilant Tyrannos, it may be possible to end this crisis.

As such, the Arataka Research Consortium has called a temporary halt of operations to provide the Society additional time to clarify their position, their relationship with the Vigilant Tyrannos, and what steps may be taken to reduce the threat the Vigilant Tyrannos pose to the cluster at large. We do this out of respect for the Society and an understanding that they are privy to information we do not yet have.

However, both we and the Society must also acknowledge that the Drifters have assassinated a head of state and waged war against a major power of the cluster. Whether vengeance or securing a vigilant peace is the better path for the cluster cannot be determined at this time, and it is incumbent on the Society to prove this point to us and to the cluster at large.

Without further information from the Society on whether and how they are able to communicate with the Vigilant Tyrannos, what the objectives of the Vigilant Tyrannos are, and what steps we may undertake to ensure that they respect the sovereignty of Yulai Convention signatories, we are unable to simply take the Society’s word and permanently cease operations against the Vigilant Tyrannos.

If we do not receive a satisfactory statement from the Society by YC118.03.26, we will resume operations against the Vigilant Tyrannos.

We await further word.

In the end it have paid off for them.
They have been "designated as the full successor state of the Jove Empire" but how does it affect their capabilities in term resources, technology, intel aside from gaining those Jove companies.

It is good to see this kind of movement from a major power on this matter.

Matshi Raish strikes me as a daring, courageous and enterprising individual. I hope he will be able to get things going within CONCORD.

I wonder if the "death" of that girl was anticipated by elements within the Amarrian government - elements which, in her absence, are now in a position to accommodate the Society with respect to CONCORD. Yes, I think that sounds about right.

Pilot Makoto, you and the fine people of ARC are representing capsuleers well in this ongoing crisis.

I, as will many others, will wait and see how this all shakes out before thinking the road to resolution has been discovered. Seating a new player at the table without changing the game has little consequence in the long flow of history.

Drifters still have free run of Empire Space with only criminal status flagging. Is this a move by Concord to refocus the political argument away from their damning impotence to deal with the Drifters?

The thought's appreciated. The coordination team has already discussed an accelerated operations tempo once this stay ends, in anticipation that the Society or Elder Mentor Raish will be unable to provide clarification in a timely fashion. While I remain hopeful that the Society will provide us good reason for its statements, I've also inquired with CONCORD as to whether the Society statement reflects CONCORD views.

Naturally, we'll see what comes.

Your disappointment is understandable. I would ask that you consider it this way: the Empire has lost an empress and suffered a season of bloody war. What if peace, though, were to allow for another millenia of prosperity, whereas vengeance further degraded your navy? Wouldn't the wiser path be peace? This is, of course, provided that the Society can legitimately establish that peace is not merely appeasement, and that we are not simply allowing a danger to remain unchecked. Surely we must agree that the burden of proof on the Society is a high one.

Ms. Kernher; with due respect, I'm not sure you're exactly an expert on Jove affairs.

At present, we've received no response. I can only assume that this is because the Society or Elder Mentor Raish now have much on their plate, integrating three new corporations into an organization that previously existed only to demonstrate that the Society existed independently of the Directorate, whatever its origins.

Still, operations are now planned for 26.03, 31.03, and 02.04.

Ms. Priano, Moonfyre Science and Research stands ready to be of service to the Empire in this investigation. I will have a crew ready to depart at soon as I can be notified thru private channels. Thank you.

For better or worse, the major players are not known for timely responses to independent Capsuleers. If his statement was in fact one he believed was an important matter, instead of something off-handedly given, then the eleven days we've given should be easily enough for him to have made further statements.

Elder Mentor Matshi Raish still has 26 hours until our next operation is scheduled to begin.
