I'm originally from Dust 514, just created this EVE character, I'm looking to becoming a PVP pilot, anything to help this?

There is a big newbro event going on this month called "March of the Newbros." It is an entirely player driven event and looks to have a lot going on. I"d try to get involved with it.

probably early on your best bet is to try everything. One of the main keys to PvP in this game is not only knowing how to fit and pilot your own ship but how your opponent is likely to fit and fly his ship. So you will want to become familiar with all the ships or at least most of the more popular ones.

There is no problem with settling into a playstyle or ship line up that you like better. You just are going to want to have some experience flying the other ships.

Of course like most stuff in this game it's not written in stone and only my opinion.

Join one of the bigger teaching organizations and you can get your feet right into PvP. If you prefer something more structured, pick a place like Eve University. If you prefer less structure, pick a place like Pandemic Horde. Eve University has campuses in low and null which are great for learning PvP plus they have a Ship Replacement Program (SRP). Pandemic Horde is largely based out of null although they move around and are currently based out of a low sec system on the edge of null. They do not have an official SRP. These are just two off the top of my head, but there are many more.

Corporations like the ones I have mentioned are great because often they have free ships to hand out which make the losses hurt a lot less.

Ditto what others have said. If you are going to pursue PvP, my biggest advice is to stay away from any PvE stuff. It will just suck up skill points where you don't need to spend them. Get in a newbro PvP corp right away and get in the proper skill tree set up. They can also likely outfit you with a decent starter ship and train with them to learn the ropes.

but wont PVE give a side income that can aide in funding the PVP side?

Earning isk to fund pvp is crucial. FW a good start to do both. I've recently found explorstion in worm wholes to be worth the time.

Yes, PvP usually burns your ISK and PvE is a solid income source. Pandora probably refers to mining and industry, which require some special skills not used elsewhere.* Beside that combat PvE (ratting, missions, DED sites, incursions) and exploration (scanning, hacking, covert) share skills with PvP.

* I would like to add here, that skills in that areas can be useful and also open up unconventional options. For example mining barges can be fun PvP ships, also ninja gas mining in wormholes is a thing to earn some quick ISK. For some blueprints you get as loot you may want to manufacture them for extra profits, like advanced drone blueprints you get in some exploration sites. This requires basic industry skills. Overall the game is IMO more fun if you can do many different things.

I'm my own NPC alt.

PVE isn't like mining. Almost all skills useful for PVE are good in PVP too.

Also remember PVP isn't just starship combat. You can always steal from other players to fund reckless PVP and some of the best targets for this are wormhole PVE corps - if this sounds interesting to you you'll need to train according to a PVE oriented plan.

Please explain how PvE and PvP dont mix.

Last time I checked for certain PvE you also need a tank and guns on a ship?

If you are too dumb to understand that PvE isnt only mining, are you capable of giving advice?

Yes it will.
