News reaches Gutter Press, that inhabitants of the planet Edmalbrurdus IV have formed a quasi-governmental structure and have declared their intention to secede from the Republic !

Secession !

The "People's Republic of Edmalbrurdus IV", consisting of an equatorial island on the planet with some 120 inhabitants, have declared that Sanmatar Shakor's Tribal Republic is "tyrannical" and they intend to set up a "collective democracy" that is "free from the centralising influence of the Pator regime".

Microstate !

A Republic Secret Service agent known to Gutter Press had this to say about the secession:
"They'll get tired of it within a few years. We're just going to ignore them."

Dismissive !

Gutter Press spoke with a number of other residents of Edmalbrurdus IV, to get their reaction.

"That's one of the best beaches. Now I'll need a permit to visit there ?", asked a Sebiestor surfer dude.
"Silly kids and their silly ideas. I bet they got this from that imported Gallente holo-animation show", said a cranky old Sebiestor motorcycle mechanic.
"I bet this is some kind of Amarrian plot. Has to be. It's too dumb to be anything else.", said a Sebiestor conspiracy theorist.
"People's republic ? What does that even mean ?", asked a Sebiestor exotic dancer.
"Shakor ! I knew it was him ! Even when it was the Ammatar, I knew it was him !", said a grizzled Sebiestor veteran of the Vindication Wars.

It seems that the "People's Republic" has a way to go yet, to win the hearts and minds of the citizens of Edmalbrurdus IV.

Weirdly, they're not trustworthily inaccurate, either.

Such declaration means nothing if others won't recognize it.

Pity, if they wanted freedom from the regressions of the republic I'm sure The Empire would have welcomed them with open arms.

Reclaiming? Life of servitude with the promise of freedom and elevated status "when we get around to it... for one of your descendants... some day?"
