Suddenly I can only launch one client

Ubuntu 14.04, i followed the instructions in the ubuntu guide a few months ago and its been working perfectly! Until this morning when I tried to launch a second account and I can't get the launcher opened.

I usually just open a client by clicking on the icon on the desktop. I haven't needed to use the CL for anything eve related aside from the installation.

another issue I just noticed, which may or may not be related, is that every time launch the launcher, it spends quite a bit of time checking the shared resource cache.

Never mind, it seems to be working now. I don't know the root cause, but while investigating I discovered that I had a dozen or so launcher processes running in the background. after killing the I can now launch multiple clients.

I had tried a complete reboot before this but that did not solve the problem, not sure why it persisted after a reboot.
