The current "This week in EVE" gives an overview of the previous two weeks from March 5th to 11th

Want to be a host on EVE TV this Fanfest?
We are looking for enthusiastic players who are coming to Fanfest and would like to join the EVE TV crew as a host this year. Part of the duties as a host will be to conduct a few interviews in between main presentations and you will also get a chance to say hello to your fellow capsuleers live on air. Please consider the requirements and send you application to evetv@ccpgames.com if you are interested!

Monthly Economic Report - February 2016 - Feedback
CCP Quant has published the first Monthly Economic Report containing a lot of graphs and csv data dumps. This is different from Dr. Eyjó's popular QEN's of the past in that there is no written analysis included. Check out this MER and its underlying raw data. Discussions can be found here.

Tranquility Tech III is ready for you! - Feedback
Following the move of the Tranquility server cluster on Feb 29 to a new data center and new hardware, we are delighted to give you a detailed insight of the whole operation. This was the biggest assignment to CCP's Ops team so far, and now we have an equally exhaustive dev blog full with tech talk, numbers, and graphs. Check it out!

Character Bazaar Rules Update - Skill Extraction
The Character Bazaar rules have been updated to clarify our position on skill extraction when a character is to be sold: You may not extract skillpoints from a character after it has been advertised for sale. Character sales threads must accurately represent the character's state. Extracting skill after a character has been advertised for sale will be considered character sales scamming, and reprimands will be issued as such.

The Great Billboard Propaganda Contest!
We are happy to give you the chance to see your video advertisement on the billboards through the whole EVE Online universe along trade routes, highways and backwater travel routes. Do you want to promote your corporation, alliance, or coalition? Or maybe just create a general cause for fight? With new billboard code deployed in the March release we have now more options to enrich the universe with custom made videos. Please read the details of this contest and join in! Additionally to your ads being displayed on billboards, you also can win prizes in this contest which is closing April 4th. A thread with discussions is available here.

March release has been deployed on March 9
The EVE Online March release has been deployed during an extended downtime on March 9, 2016. This release brings large set of module revamps (including tweaks to ECM, ECCM, damage control and more), new modules (such as the Heavy Stasis Grappler), new Drifter based game play including new Booster pills, the amazing Project Discovery , community notifications in-game, preparations for the EVE: Citadel release, code improvements and a lot more. Check out the full patch notes and the feedback thread.

Project Discovery Is Now Live!
We are happy to announce that Project Discovery is now live on Tranquility! A first for EVE Online, Project Discovery offers a unique new challenge that allows the EVE Community to contribute to real world science while earning rewards inside the EVE Universe. As simple as playing a mini-game within the EVE Online client, Project Discovery challenges you to look for patterns in human cells before generating results and submitting them for in-game rewards. You can find out more about the project on the Project Discovery website and the Flight Academy video!

Removing "Load Station Environment" option
The option to load the station environment or not was removed. CCP Darwin explains the details behind the decision to remove this option. Besides all these reasons we are also very sure (because we repeatedly check) that our normal hangar environment performs acceptably on "low" settings on a machine that meets our minimum specification.

How to bypass loading Captain's Quarters
If you are unable to load Captain's Quarters successfully on your computer, then CCP Darwin has a set of instructions for you to bypass the Captain's Quarters. Note that this particular procedure will reset all your local settings, including chat channels and overview; it also only works with the official game launcher.

Linux and Mac
Wine support for Mac
In an effort to offer more officially supported ways to play EVE on Mac we are now providing support for Wine in addition to Cider. The game launcher can take care of all this (setting up Wine etc.) for you if you select Wine as wrapper in the EVE Launcher settings menu. Of course you can come back to Cider too after you have switched the wrapper to Wine. If you want to attach logs to a bug report, please find them in the folder ~/Library/Application Support/CCP/EVE/launcher.

Wine and DX11?
Wine is making good progress with DirectX 11 support. But unfortunately it is not yet sufficiently capable to be able to run EVE.

Various
Permissions granted to third parties
An error prevented you to set third party application permissions properly. A fix for this has been deployed on March 9. You should now be able to see the permissions you have granted third party sites at https://community.eveonline.com/support/third-party-applications/.

The EVE Online API Challenge
The deadline for entries for the EVE Online API Challenge was March 4th, 2016 at 23:59 GMT. Many thanks to everyone who participated! The raw and uncut submissions are available on Github. We are now going over the submissions and judge them. Stay tuned!

Minimum system specifications for EVE
We do have comprehensive data on the hardware and software configurations that people use to play EVE, and we use that information in deciding how to manage minimum specifications. We also performance test frequently on minimum-spec systems to make sure that the game remains playable. We do not actively prevent EVE from running on computers that do not meet our minimum specification, so if your gameplay is of a style that's tolerant of performance that's below our standards, you may find that such a system continues to work for you after it's no longer supported.

The GONG is GONE
The sound effect known as "gong" which was played when you destroyed a ship (player or NPC piloted) has been removed with the March release 1.2. Of course there are many community sources which allows you to still listen to this sound effect, for example at Darkblad's Schildwall.

The animation is also a hindrance.

Thank you for removing the "BONG" noise. The new animation needs to go along with the bong noise though. Tiericide of ewar modules? No. This is a good example of fixing what isn't broke. I could understand tiericide of ships but the modules worked well. The watch list change....... us w-space residence HATE this. I just have to ask.... do you people play this game at all? And an even better question, do the members of CSM actually represent what any player base wants? With what i'm seeing the answer to both must be no. These elected officials that represent us, don't represent the player, and are more concerned with naming crappy "improvements" unsuitable or inappropriate names rather than stopping the awful "improvement" in its tracks.

CCP best advice : Better infiltrate some corps and see what the actual player base wants. This would allow you to get back to the basics, and get back in touch with reality.

CCP next best advice: If you wont work to make a game everyone can enjoy, at least stop listening to the idiots at CSM that are really making this worse.

*Gong* noise may be gone, but what about the continuously playing tv in the captain's quarters? It get really annoying having to listen to the same video every minute. Something needs to be done about this please. Only way I can stop the sound is to turn off the main sound. Please fix ASAP!

If they opened one window in rest of the station, by now it would be desinfected for our use.

Citadels
Updates on Citadels, NPC taxes and more
CCP Ytterbium/Grammar Bum --> CCP Ytterbium has also more details about the ore refining rigs and their efficiency.

"has also more details" should be "also has more details"

STOP THIS! This has happened too many times to just let it go.
Every time we try to read through these postings for the fun of learning about new game stuff this ruins the fun part.

It is like a "partner" that keeps farting during sexual relations and/or belching loudly every time you try to take them to a fancy dinner.

We rely on you people to fix game problems/errors!
You joke about your customers' OCD so I made a joke.

Black Ops ships using Covert Jump Portals with Covert Cynos are NOT allowed to use Covert Cloaks. That makes sense.
