Hello, fellow Empyreans,

I'd like to take a second to explain the significance of the Servant Sisters' newest undertaking, Project Discovery. This initiative has been upend to us all for the purpose of analyzing samples of Drifter tissue samples, for a purpose we have not learned yet. However, advancing any understanding of the Drifters is a much appreciated and absolutely necessary undertaking.

That being said, I'd like to highlight the importance of the Sisters opening up such a task to us; though it may not mean much yet, this is the first time we Empyreans have been brought into the fold to assist in learning more about the Drifters. The previously conducted autopsy was done independently, and the only other help we've been allowed to assist in has been to fight them off in Amarr space. Apart from that, our only research has been our own, conducted through exploration of the Hive complexes they have appeared to have taken over.

Though the Sisters have been wary, even dismissive of us in the past, this is a change of policy that is good for us all; the more we learn of the Drifters, their story, and their ambitions, the more prepared we can be to encounter them in the future, peacefully or violently. This is the first step on the road to cooperation for the greater good; I hope, for all of our sakes, we can continue to do so.

To an informed and cooperative future

From what I see we are being used as a crowdsourced image filing system. We mark down what the items of interest are, and the actual reviewing process is done by the Sisters. I can only assume there must be a considerable amount of images for this to be more useful then image recognition software running off of some of the most powerful computer technology we know people like the Sisters possess.

My guess is that the old Mk1 eyeball is still better at picking out subtle differences and flaws, despite what all those trans-humanists say about cyborgs and drones. I think I'll pass on the armour though, not my style.

So that's what dust mercs look like without helmets..... Kidding obviously.

I'm happy to see this actually gaining some traction, personally I would be useless at it but thankfully others who aren't are doing their part. Thanks everyone.

The human brain excels at seeing patterns and interpreting them. Pareidolia, the mainstay of conspiracy theorists everywhere, is one such manifestation of this ability. Even these days, computer vision comes off second best as it still lacks the interpretive element in batch processes.

On the one hand, it means we still haven't invented a truly inspiring drone artist. On the other, it means the machines still haven't taken over as our overlords - unable to achieve much more than churning out the occasional homophobic edge-lord like Arkoth.

I agree on the armour. Rather de trop for my tastes, but that's the glory of fashion. Each to their own, and utilitarian chic is very much a thing.

Humanity has won its battle. Liberty now has a country.

I'm not very happy about the secretive aspects of this project. I get the distinct impression that we're going to be doing a lot of the heavy lifting here without adequate access to the results. I think to expect anything different from the Sisters is unwise.

But needs must when the devil drives.

So if this gets us more intel on the Drifters, so be it. I and my associates are adding to this project.

As a Cartel loyalist, clearly you're one to complain about others being secretive.

Ha, point taken.

But I think you'd be a lot more disturbed by the secrets that CONCORD and the SSOE hold than you would the secrets of the Cartel.

Having less of a consideration for what's a secret and what's made publically known doesn't make the details any better, if anything it only makes them more honest about their misgivings not more reputable. A fedo smells like a fedo no matter how you bathe it...

From what I understand these samples are all being submitted to a Drifter protein atlas maintained by the Sisters of EVE which will make them public to future researchers.

What I find strange is the fact that in addition to spiffy sets of armour the Sisters are handing out powerful new boosters, which CONCORD has decided are perfectly legal.

In any case I'm glad to lend my abilities to the project, though it's been years since the last time I looked at a slide of cellular tissue.

Spiffy armor and powerful boosters you say? You can count me in, but I will never trust concord or like the religion of the SOE. I do feel obligated to help in this scientific research though.

Remember, if you see any green staining outside the nucleus of the cell it's always the cytoplasm.

Always.

At least according to the majority of popular consensus on most images it seems.

People always seem to think, how can a million people who agree be wrong, without ever thinking, how can a million idiots who agree ever be right.

I have discovered that if I second guess on whether the prickly dots are glopules instead of filamathings, and assert that they are glopules, then they are filamathings. However, if I stick to my filamathings guns from the get go, then they are in fact glopules.

It doesn't help that I am basically all squinty blind, of course.

In cases of extreme doubt, I go with testicles. What's that, sweetie?

Oh.

Alright, the cytoplasm thing is beyond absurd.

I get that any green outside of the nucleus must necessarily be cytoplasm. But it seems that if there is any green whatsoever, then half the cohort will choose cytoplasm. In fact, even if there is no green at all, cytoplasm. Although I am certain the effort has produced quite a lot of data, quite a lot of that data will be: "do not listen to these people, like, ever."

Apparently what I said was too offensive and someone reported it for removal. I'm having a giggle.
