While I know that SKINS aren't important to everyone, I for one see them as a really positive change. Sadly, however, there is a distinct lack of Thukker Tribe SKINS available, despite them looking completely awesome. (Only 1 permanent SKIN for the Vargur, and two temporary SKINS for the Thrasher and Cyclone exist in-game.)

I'd really like to see the Angel Cartel faction ships get a Thukker Tribe SKIN.

I think their white camo would be an awesome skin for the Dram / Cynabal / Mach (as well as the Cane / Cane fleet issue / Sleip - could even give the Rupture / Muninn some SKIN love)

Lore wise it can kinda work -
Both factions favour fast and agile ships with high offensive power (eg: Jaguar - Dramiel, Vagabond - Cynabal Panther - Machariel)

The Description for the Jag / Vaga / Panther all place an emphasis on Thukker MIx's tendency to favor speed / firepower. The recently developed Scalpel also shares the trademark Thukker Mix speed.

The same emphasis on speed and agility is present in the description of the Cynabal - and the design / bonuses for the Machariel and Dramiel reflect this as well. Edit: The Moracha and Echo also reference the Angel's focus on speed and firepower.

The Thukker tribe have always been associated with criminal/shady activities:

The Thukker tribe is one of the seven original Minmatar tribes. After the Minmatar Rebellion the Thukkers left Minmatar space and took up the nomadic lifestyles of their ancestors, only this time in space. The closest thing they've got to home is the Great Wildlands region, where they are very numerous, but the Thukkers like to be on the move, constantly going from one solar system to another in their huge caravans, trading and scavenging. Respectable citizens of EVE frown upon the Thukkers, considering them to be nothing but scoundrels and thieves. Indeed, the Thukkers often operate on the shadier side of the law, but their resourcefulness and diligence count a lot more for their success than their criminal activities. - In game description

During the incident involving Konora - The Thukkers are rumoured to have worked with the Cartel to bring down the rogue Angels

The old Wicked Creek description:

Forming the core of the southeastern cluster, this has long been a heartland of the Angel Cartel, as well as a frequent stomping ground of Thukker outriders. Its maze of systems, centralized position and multiple exits have also made it a favored hideaway of many particularly notorious criminals over the course of its long, tainted history. Some of the most infamous villains in living memory (including serially genocidal Black Harold, the arch-defiler Lucias, and the enigma that was Susa'tah) have run to - and occasionally been run to ground in - the Creek's dark embrace

The old COSMOS site in Tvink - in the Ani constellation

"This is a secluded factory site operated by some Thukker tribe nomads. It is used to manufacture various illicit substances, most notable the brand new Crystal Dust neural boosters. The Thukker tribe have used the Ani constellation for several decades as a base for illegal operations and to hide themselves or valuable stash in. They’re not too happy with the increasing Republic authority in the constellation, but are hoping that by laying low will keep them under the Republic’s radar.

Of more immediate concern for the Thukker nomads here is the Angel cartel, which has earmarked the Ani constellation as an area ideal for organized crime. Even if the cartel and the Thukker tribe are nominally allies when it comes to dealing with the empires, the cartel is renown to tolerate no competition in those areas they consider their own."

Then theres the 760-9C constellation in Wicked Creek:

"Rumor has it that the infamous Thukker warlord, Martokar Alash, was last seen in the constellation 760-9C. He apparently fled his homeland after Republic authorities threatened an invasion should he not be extradited into their hands. It is believed that he has become involved in the booster smuggling business, working alongside the Angel Cartel.

Martokar's previous crimes include the murder of CONCORD officers, kidnapping and sale of Republic citizens into slavery. Investigators also blamed him for managing a large criminal network inside the Republic territories, which had direct links to the Angel Cartel. And although it is common knowledge that the Thukker Tribe leadership has strong ties to the Cartel, Dulinar Nerhoger, chief of intelligence in the Republic Justice Department, believes that Martokar's crimes are grave enough to warrant special attention. He advises all travelers venturing into 760-9C to keep an eye out for Martokar, he is considered extremely dangerous."
- in game pop-up upon entering the constellation.

There's two Republic fleet Nidhoggurs and some tempests just chilling in a site named "The Tain" in the DUO-51 system - all Agents. My Minmitar rep isn't high enough to talk to them though - too many Angel missions.

Wow. Really, wow.

+1 for more Angel ship skins.
+10 for researching your justification for this. Using established lore to show the link between Thucker tribe and Angels is good enough for me to support it, provided there isn't more recent lore showing a falling out between the two groups.

Thanks dude! I wasn't able to find any sources indicating a fallout between the Thukker Tribe and the Angels - but if I do find some, I will add it to the OP.

Edit: I'd also love to see a little more lore focus on the Angels and the Thukker tribe - Neither have had much limelight in recent years. With all the ruckus surrounding the Serpentis and Citadels, I'd have thought the Guardian Angels would have been getting involved a fair bit - sadly, there wasn't a Serp or Angel contact to give research components to :( .

On another note - it'd be nice to get an Angel variant of the 'Outlaw" coat set of clothing. Just saying.

More skins in general that isn't just brown or green smears for Minmatar/Angel ships are definitely a good idea. One day we'll get skins that aren't either ****** copypastes of Gallente skins, or even worse smears of brown and green.

I approve.

Also, nefantar fleet cane would be pure sex.

I wish the faction BC's/Cruisers/etc got better skins. Regular cane gets blue tiger, trondahar and a few other choices. Fleet cane gets Justice skin and thats it. I don't see why they can't offer the other skins for the faction ships.

A +1 from me just for the reason that the post is well researched and good justifications were given for that addition. A Thukker Machariel would indeed be a joy for the eyes.

And if they are on it, I would like to see a Order of St. Tetrimon SKIN for Amarr ships. Their color pattern Martial Green, Copper-Trimmed would be quite a look to behold.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

Awesome post Black! Never thought our little discussion about skins in local would spark something like this.

Agreed. More Cartel skins, more Thukker skins.

Also, a Cartel Outlaw clothing set would be appreciated.

First: Mostly because the Machariel is the least attractive ship when on the piloting side, i second this post. (Attacking Machs are great though, they're so much easier to see i they're about to blow up, which i enjoy avoiding when in it...)

Second: Whoever came up with the original ANGEL coloring must have been murderously hung-over ("Urkkk, no bright colors..." or "THIS color represents my mood right now").
Angels, whether dark angels or good angels, don't dress in excrement colors. Seriously, would't bright pink be just as logical?

+10 for this

I'd like to see more skins in general on all ships (aside from those already with 4-5 different skins) and I'd like to see more variation.. Like different skins coloring different parts of the ship, usually you just have specific areas of a ship that are changed as the skins change (most noticeable on large Gallente ships)

Heck, if you really wanna go nuts allow us to use multiple skins at once, assuming they color different parts of the ship..
It wouldn't allow completely custom designs, but would serve to expand the customization of skins without suffering from the obvious phallic skins if it were completely freeform.
