Daniel: Peachy, I'm heartily ashamed for gettin' you killed instead of going home rich like you deserved to,
on account of me bein' so bleedin' high and bloody mighty. Can you forgive me?

Peachy: That I can and that I do, Danny, free and full and without let or hindrance.

Daniel: Everything's all right then.

Doing some research suggests very strongly that you may just want to walk away right now.
Scamming in Eve is allowed, and if you do a good job and make us a good story I'll even applaud you.

Scamming in real life is not OK.

Close this down and sod off.

You can remove the word "suggests" from my first sentence. More research has confirmed beyond any shadow of a doubt.

Do share, plox - we all love a good in-game scam, and even better a potential RL one that has been thwarted! Lol

I have not and will never DOX someone, so I can't share the story sorry.
Even if it wasn't against the Eve ELUA I still wouldn't.

I will say something about this - his offer leaks like a sieve, and any geek with any technical knowledge can do geeky things.
Some people leave teeny tiny trails as they walk the internet. Some people leave great big elephant being dragged behind a JCB sized tracks. What we have here is the latter. News stories the lot.....

Just don't hand over any imaginary money. It may go the way of the real life money.

Not asking you to dox anyone or anything immoral and illegal like that, come on - just wondering what you're on about with the RL scam accusation. That's fairly serious, you know.

That does sound dangerously close to something quite immoral, if not probably illegal. Not saying you're doing anything wrong, of course, just pointing out that bandying fairly serious allegations and insinuations around without a shred of evidence one way or the other is probably not the way to go about things.

OP: good luck with your venture :)

I am not able to say anything more without busting Eve rules, or possibly even worse rules.
If I can figure it out others can too. If you do, don't drop yourself in it.

The "Moi?" looking all innocent is the nail in the coffin for me. You know exactly what I'm talking about.
Play innocent if you want, but we both know what I'm referring to.

One clue GM - To everyone else they will think this refers to an in game GM.
To the OP it will be proof I know.

I'm guessing the person who registered the website has the same name as someone else.

In any event, for what it's worth, the 'GM' the guy above me referenced apparently refers to a game called 'Greed Monger', a crowdfunded game that raked in money and then closed it's doors for good.

I think all of this is a bit too much for a business proposal for within a video game, on the video game's forums. Vim-thingy should probably lay off the space-drugs for a bit, and keep the tinfoil hat back under his bed.

Your website seems to imply that Aquiileia and TheDamned are different people, but the latter bought the former quite recently.

Toombs claims to be a "5 year veteran of which he has established a vast knowledge of New Eden.", why is he less than a month old?

Seriously you couldn't be any more cryptic, just say it clear and loud and everyone will be done with it Roll

He's basically insinuating (I think...) that the OP is, in RL, the same person who developed this crowdsourced game but then absconded from the project with the game abandoned. As I understand it, the game is unfinished but the money raised has all been spent.

This, coupled with what Elizabeth has unearthed, now gets the Bumble Red Flag Award™

Ok,
now I see where this is going.

Where to begin...well, its true, sort of.

I crowd funded the development of a game and made it very clear that I wasn't a developer personally, but I had the help of some developers. It didn't take long before people started shouting "Scammer" all over the internet before the campaign even finished. The game funded, but it was quite literally the start of the worst 3 years of my life. Emails, forum harassment, people trying to ruin my professional reputation in the finance world, all within the first 6 months of development. We couldn't find more people to help with the project because the games name had started to be ruined before it even began and after 3 years of funneling money into the games development and all of the lies, backstabbing, trolling and other associated bullshit, I gave EVERYTHING to one of the original developers and his new team based on their promises of completing the project. This was after I had been pumping my own money into the development the last 6 months of it all. I walked away with an agreement that the new devs were to finish the game and provide everything the backers were promised and washed my hands of it. I didn't sell anything to them, I gave all of the assets, licenses etc to them at no cost, just to see it finished. They are still working on it to this day.

That is all there is to it and I'm not going to get into a big flame war about it. It's a lot of people with nothing better to do that constantly try and tear someone else down for trying to accomplish something they couldnt or didn't have the ambition to attempt. Multi million dollar corporations get venture capital funding and fail in a year. That doesnt make it a scam.

I gave everything I had to getting that game built, quite literally. I ended up 30lbs heavier and on blood pressure meds by the time it was done and I will not be dealing with more of that bullshit here. I'm back down to 7ft, 285lbs and pretty healthy again and I have nothing to do with GM any longer. It's been making solid progress and I still get updates (because the devs are looking for my help with servers when they finally launch beta testing and I told them I would so long as I saw something worth beta testing first).

People that called that situation a scam simply have no idea what they are talking about. Seriously.

If you want to join the rest of the group thinking monkeys tossing around accusations, do so elsewhere. It has no place here.

And as for this corp I'm launching being a scam...you seriously think I'm doing all of this to scam a few hundred bucks worth of ISK? Once again, someone else has proven that sense has no place on the internet.
