On top of that, citadels will not have turrets, only missiles.

In screenshots what was early XL guns.

"They are either going to be turrets or missiles (or maybe even a combination of both) which can be fitted in M, L and X-L structures, but only exist in 2 variations based on their role. Unlike ship weapons, they will not exist in multiple sizes themselves – we’ve investigated that option but felt it was not worth the small variety it brought next to the extensive design, technical and skill training costs.

One long range weapon, primarily meant to take down large and slow ships, like battleships or capitals. Can be fitted with ammunition that reduces range but increases damage proportionally.
One short-medium range weapon, best at taking down smaller threats, but doing considerably less damage. Can be fitted with ammunition that reduces range but increases application proportionally.
They are going to require a new line of skills to operate, but most likely use existing gunnery and / or missile support skills. More details as we get them."

It's best to take extremely early information like that with a pinch of salt, note that the guns you linked specify capital, such as the "Capital Grumpy Cat Launcher BAKER", so are probably for Dreadnoughts or Titans rather than Citadels.

This dev blog was released last month and doesn't show Citadels having any turrets either.

Nope. This is guns for Citadels i guess. But may be i wrong.

"Citadel weaponry was also unveiled: Flak Guns will be useful in taking down fighters, bombers, and small craft at short range. Anti-Ship Missiles will be effective against larger ships, and AOE Torpedoes will be available 'to disperse enemy fleets'. New structure doomsday weapons were confirmed, which will be able to 'bounce' from one target to the next to hit multiple ships at once."

You're looking at 5 month old info, refer to the newest dev blog on the matter, which says this:-

Quote:
Point Defense Batteries: not to be confused with the flak missiles, this weapon generates AoE damage all around the structure, primarily to deal with enemy drones or frigates

It wouldn't make sense for a completely different type of gun to use existing ammo, and since Citadels won't have different racial weapons, why would they use racial ammo? With all the recent info It's pretty safe to assume XL ammo won't be used outside of capital ships.

But are you sure no guns at Citadels? Only missiles?

I will admit I am not 100% on all the new Citadel mods, but I would be willing to be the 30B that you spent that they are missiles only Big smile.

Now on a slightly more helpful note, you may still be able to make the money back given the latest Dread changes pulling demand for ammo, but given the new tax changes proposed, it is a chance.

Could move the stuff around to sell at a higher price too.
