The fit I linked I run with Crystals.. Have found it works with Mid of Highs and decent skills. But it can do any anom you put in front of it and I have used it all the way up to a 9 of 10 Blood DED. I also Carry a full set of hard and refit to run besieged and drone plexs with ease.

It literally is the most versitile ship I think I have ever used. The heavy cap booster and Nuet make it a nasty panda to fight if someone tryed to drop me. I used to run a cap battery sense I live in blood space which actually worked but then I had a scrub blue tackle me and cap me out.. He was in a fleet phoon.

When I finally died he was at like 25 percent hull so a cap injector would have killed him.. I was in a Blood 5 of 10 which is a pretty nasty plex so.. You just have to accept you are gonna go threw shartloads of cap injectors.

I see the dps advantage of the polarized but aside from overheating non stop and running stupid expensive drones you get like 250ish if that more dps then me.. without the ability to run just about anything with the same fit..

Just my thoughts.. Idk maybe it is personal preference but I dont see the real advantage

To my mind, polarised mach is suited for blitzing, where you can quickly get in, wreck what needs to be wrecked and get out before your tank is overwhelmed. Blitzing 3's would be good, but there are not many 4's where it will be ideal. Or, as Jenn said, the occasional combat site where you don't even give them a chance to challenge your tank...

544 HP/s tank, 1144 unheated autocannon DPS with barrage or 1601 with hail. 5.22 AU/s. You can make it a billion cheaper and only sacrifice about 150 HP/s.

People rag on polarized mission fits for being susceptible to tornado ganking, but if you use instas and have the awareness that a non-AFK missioner should have, you'll be safe.

Machariel with max damage implants and 4 RF gyros does 1350 cold with hail, why go polarized?

When playing the game of min/max, you either go all out and max or you min.

Max or max not. There is no other logic.

Seriously though: If you can crank out 100-200 more dps in a ship, it can still make a huge difference in site times. 200 more dps can make the difference between 1-2 fewer shots on a bs. Think about it, how many times have you had a bs that had only a sliver of hull left? or had a sliver of armor that prevented the hull from being destroyed with the next shot?

I can't remember the cycle time on the guns, so for simplicity, let's assume the cycle time is 5 seconds. If you can kill 3 ships a wave in one less shot, that is 15 seconds right there. Over the course of 4 waves, that is a whole minute. If you can normally complete a site in 6 minutes, it now only takes you 5. Over the course of an hour, that is 2 extra sites you could have ran. Over the course of a week, that time truely does start adding up.

It comes down to personal preference whether the extra income is worth the time to make up the cost difference. If you are a space where it is safe to rat/mission then it will eventually make you money.
