Hi all,

Sorry for the noobish question - I've just been back in Eve for a couple of months after a few years away.

My corp has recently moved to a high sec 'Island' surrounded by about five low and nullsec systems on all sides... Since I travel across those LS/NS systems quite a bit, I'm trying to understand how the various forms of interdiction work. This is what I understand - is this correct?

(1)One Warp Core Stabilizer will counteract one Disruptor.
(2)Two Warp Core Stabilizers are required to Counteract one Scrambler, but Scramblers operate at a lower range than Disruptors
(3) 'Bubbles' are deployed in Nullsec only, and cannot be countered with Warp Core Stabilizers, although Interceptors are inherently immune.

Essentially correct. But to be more specific:

scrams will also shut down MWDs where disruptors will not.

Most ships in game have a warp core strength of 1. You can find this in the attributes tab of the info UI. Very few ships have more than the 1 but the ones that do have it stated in the description with all the other abilities that are ship or skill based.

Most distruptors have a -1 warp core strength effect and most scrams have a -2 warp core strength effect. You need a warp core strength of 1 to warp.

So if you inherently have a 1 WCS ( warp core strength ) and add a stab to get you to 2 then yes a disruptor will not prevent you from warping but a scram or 2 disruptors will.

The disruptors and scrams with more negative point effects are the faction ones. Pick any scram or disruptor and go to the show info UI and go the the variations tab and click compare. You will be able to select what stats to list and see what I mean.

Thanks! I think I understand. I'm just trying to minimize my chances of having trouble crossing those areas ^.^

If you want to fit an interceptor for travel then fitting for fast align is better than stabs.

I believe the HIC infinipoint can be used in LS, so even though they can't bubble, if they use their point script instead of the bubble script, then you only warp out if you force the HIC to break lock. I also think the infinipoint is technically only -100 to warp strength, so not technically infinite. But is also longer that disruptor, not sure how far though.

I LIKE HS bubbles. Totally different atmosphere than standard HS. It's more where LS pirates go to relax. Solitude, Aridia, Placid are my happy places. It was fun, but decided to move to NPC null for more of a challenge. Having Sabres bubble camping my home station certainly adds a bit of spice.

It's definitely a new feel compared to regular HS - we're still getting used to it lol

The module uses capacitor. So breaking lock is not the only way to GTFO.

Welcome to Aridia.

In my rookie days of EVE (first 2 months), I mined in such a place because I didn't know I shouldn't. Witnessed battles on the gates, but they otherwise ignored me in my mining Bantam (before mining frigates existed).

You are correct.

One thing got me wondering though.

Tiff was there briefly (also a new player) and now you with these basic questions. How good is the corp in supporting people

Remember HICs got buffed, the infinity point is now an infinity scram, almost every gatecamp has one now ...

I'm my own NPC alt.
