EVE Launcher version 1014041 has the following changes:

  • The launcher now uses Qt 5.6 (Release candidate)
  • Copy/paste now works on Mac in the web gui.
  • Added support for unpacking from EVEResources.7z if it is placed next to the installer when run.
  • Improved aesthetics of update dialog, on Mac in particular.
  • Fixed an issue with not declaring the client as ready if an EVE process was already running when starting the client and no update is required.
  • Added logging of url for certificate errors.
  • Added a command line argument (--disable-web-gui) to start the launcher without bringing up the web gui.
  • Minor logging changes.
  • Added an About dialog, with links to open source software used.

The installer can from now on install the full content of EVE, by downloading https://binaries.eveonline.com/EVEResources.7z and placing it the same folder as the installer before running it. The installer will then extract the full set of resources for EVE from that file into the shared cache. This may be useful for players who wish to download the game on a different network connection from the one they play on.

Get rid of the cert checking errors and calls to doubleclick.net or make the Ignore option save in the launcher settings. We already have Daddy Obama and his cronies spying on everything, we don't need some fat nerds in Iceland polling analytics on our subcap roam.

Certificate Error for Doubleclick

Today CCP Learned, some people actually visit the internet while blocking ads at the hosts file level.

Who are you calling fat?

I'm adding a setting to ignore certification errors - use at your own risk (once it's in).

The PEGI/ESRB ratings are now placed in a way that they overlap both the ad and dev blog scroll if you display them on the right side.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

Thank you for providing clear and concise reproduction steps and screenshots. I'm sure CCP loves the feedback. Get a grip nerd, and upgrade your resolution.

Quality update I have to say. I love the part where we get tracked with adds on a game we pay for each month to play. Makes you feel like a highly valued customer. I would imagine that all the RL cash we send should be enough to pay for hosting your own EVE adds on your own servers without tracking but maybe it's much more expensive than I think.

Next, when the launcher starts it briefly shows all 5 of my logins and then there is a black screen for a second (short one) and then only 4 are shown. Makes it kinda useless if I can't use 20% of the accounts without adding the last account every single time I start the launcher.

Edit: Please make the "--disable-web-gui" version show all accounts in a list so we can just click instead of the drop down many. That way we can launch clients without all the tracking and less than stable behaviour of the web one.

PS: Isn't the point of QT to be portable so you don't need to make the launcher into a bad browser and can instead have it native so it actually works?

Nice! thanks for solving my problem, I didn't even realize there were release, beta and dev versions of the new launcher. Selecting the development version fixed my issue, I no longer get the error message and can use the launcher fine now.

I assume that you have removed the CA for doubleclick.net? If so, should we have options "promp for cert errors", "skip failed urls", "ignore certificate errors". So instead of downloading some content that is behind untrusted cert, that content should not be downloaded?

Could we get this to bottom of the menu. Like it's in other applications. Probably the last 3 would be: refresh, about, exit.
Also it could be the last tab in settings, thus accessible from the web gui interface and not only from E-button menu.

Wrote this in the Feedback Thread, but I guess it might as well go here, as this (1014041) is my current Launcher version.

....

The other day most of my accounts got wiped out from the launcher. Throwing the usual curses around, I through nothing more of it.

Yesterday I used the better part of {time measurement} to input my {classified number of accounts}, so all was good again.
Today was on TQ for a bit, then closed my TQ clients, and jumped to SISI for some testing.
Switching back to TQ on my launcher only a number of my accounts are left, the rest have been wiped.

I would appreciate the launcher keeping my accounts stored, especially for something as simple as switching from TQ to SISI and back....

Also, when you bug fix this ting. Can you also please make the launcher remember the order of the accounts, it seems to do some sort of random sorting.

Kef.

Also getting the "This page was not displayed due to a conflict"

This is an error on CCP side. I have tried using a vpn and worked fine, switch back to my internet broken cant login. Use mobile data works fine... switch back its fudged.

So stuck until enough people have the same problem or until downtime. 15 accounts, lost 2 days due to server mess ups and now a 3rd day due to this. I dont want free sp I wanted gametime extended...

Your launcher is causing an issue/error which is resulting in user sessions being put into a broken state showing the error regarding a conflict. I've seen several of these errors in programming errors before or simple bugs.

Proven it's the session by using a different IP but I can't change my home static ip and dont have a decent enough vpn.

Do we need to wait for downtime because we cant exactly restart our sessions on your servers...

Solution:
You can log into the game by avoid using the launcher.
What i did:
Go to your "bin" folder in your CCP or EVE folder, then open the exefile application. It will open the game directly without the launcher.

Trying that too ... according to CCP GM Unnur, in response to my support ticket "Our developers are working on a fix for this issue which will be deployed in the next few days."

Nothing bad could happen in all of your accounts in a few days ... like colonies idling, haul contract failures, POS fuel or reinforced, skills that you were waiting to get through the queue so you could get that skill requiring those pre-reqs put in so you could unlock that ship or T2 weapons or both, missed market trades, etc ...

So, yeah - what's a few days among friends?!

Fly Safe!

Hopefully, soon I will be able to fly again too...
