Mapping - Jump Range Graphic.

The star map should contain a graphic for maximum jump distance that can be toggled on and off.

When you select a system in low or null sec, a graphic bubble representing your maximum jump distance should appear around that system. This will allow you to accurately calculate jumps, plan the route to take, and tally fuel cost.

It can be represented by a transparent white graphic and its size will be dictated by your jump drive training.

Agreed, jump range capability should be added to the new map instead of relaying on third party mapping system...

This would just be slower than the 3rd party mappers so I don't see enough ppl using it to justify the dev time

Unless you're an EVE dev I don't see the point of quoting their thought ...that you don't know, with the new map it's possibly already under way.

I use (my alt) third party map for planning, and I would be happy to see the same ingame. Not only me but others as well

I think it would be handy to be able to pick a system and get a sphere around that system. Say I'm sitting in a wh ready to jump in to low/null and then cyno. It would be nice to not show up in local and still be able to determine if a system is in jump range.

It could be as simple as:

1. pick system on the map
2. pick 'show jump range' from the pop up list
3. type your current jump range based on your current ship and skills into the box provided
4. sphere pops up around that system
5. hovering over that central system then shows a list of in range systems

The old map does have the sphere around your current system when you sit in a ship with a jump drive; however, it's utterly inadequate and inaccurate. You also have the capital navigation window which shows all systems in jump range when you sit in a ship equipped with a jump drive, but it is a long list and you cannot sort it or filter it. Furthermore, both methods require you to sit in a ship that has a jump drive, which removes a whole lot of functionality from either map feature. Both do their job, but both cannot beat Dotlan's jump drive calculator in any shape or form and CCP is in my eyes incapable of creating anything like Dotlan's calculator for the map for the simple fact that they are focused on cinematicness of the new features instead of functionality.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

I can do that already pretty accurately by just looking at the map. No visualization needed Lol
Although it would indeed be handy to have this in addition to the capital navigation window (yes, such a thing exists. You only need to set a shortcut for it).

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.
