I'm here trying to recommend that an embargo feature be added to the game. I think it should be as simple as right click and selecting Embargo, after that the player/corporation/alliance you embargo cannot purchase anything you're selling. Leave some feedback or additional features you would want to add below.

Good idea, I'd use it to embargo NPC players from purchasing my goods.

If you want to keep people from buying your goods off market, go to null where access to stations is controlled.

So maybe only base it on player to player blocking and dont allow the blocking of corps or alliances, youre really only hurting yourself if you need something sold.

Yes that does work as of now, but in highsec there is no way to control who gets what. I don't want my competition in trade being able to buy and sell my items for more isk.

Yeah, now that I've thought more about it, you would need to be able to block NPC corps because if you couldn't the embargo wouldn't work

Lol even then it wouldn't work I could just make an alt corp only way this works is with a white list and if you limit yourself that way you're better off just using contacts

Too many alts, too many creative ways to use them.

It would only really mess up the people without alts, which is, in the monetize-everything way of thinking, is all the more reason to do it.

A signature :o

This could be an incredibly powerful tool but it would have to work both ways. If you embargo a corp they shouldn't be able to buy things from you and you shouldn't be able to buy from them. There would either have to be some sort of lengthy timer or a significant isk cost to discourage abuse.

Picking the Goons for an example since everyone loves to hate on them :)
If many people embargoed the "Imperium" and all the NPC corps they would find it a lot harder to purchase any goods, but they also have an enormous industry so they could quite possibly be self sufficient or very close to it. On the other hand many people would not be able to buy the massive amount of moon goo they produce. Goo prices would fall drastically for the people that are not following the embargo and their cost to produce T2 goods would fall. This would in turn allow those producers to sell for a lower price.

Now where things would go from here I do not know, I am not an economics or history major. I would assume that the people fighting against the Imperium would have access to the tools of war at a cheaper price. The other groups that are nearly as large as the Imperium would be nearly unaffected by the embargo. I could see them buying up all of the moon goo and reselling it at the normal price. Or possibly the Imperium would form a trade empire with other third parties to get around the embargo. The overwhelming amount of anonymity in this game would break the idea of a true embargo.

In the end I do not think that this would be a positive change for the game. It has the effect of limiting interactions between players through an arbitrary means. If you want to embargo an entity then you should have to do it like the old world navies did and form a blockade. Actively playing the game is much more engaging than passive space magic.

Lol again this wouldn't work I would just make an alt to embargo and an alt to buy (wait i already do that) the only ppl who may get screwed by this are new players that don't understand

The embargo will be naturally on with Citadelles, if you allow only some player to buy on your local market like blue player or standing related or player ban to enter the citadelle That would be the best way to implement it.

For NPC I don't see the point.
