I am a bit shocked that I didn't find any threads on this. Null has it's 25% range modifier increased to 40% on SISSI. Discuss.

guess if you keep crying about something long enough ccp buffs it?
again?

so next stage is starting another post that blasters will still suck after null is changed and we get more blaster buffs?

I saw it. I'm not sold on it, but its probably not as dangerous as the AF buff giving +1 slot and +1 bonus and +fittings and +HP and +role bonus...

It's too much imo. We'll see how it works out - betting on whine threads about Gallente popping up 1 month after the buff goes through tho.

Meh, not interested.
If your blasters don't have Void in them, youre not getting the point of blasters.

(Yes, i realize the extra range will be useful on certain ships but if you want DPS projection, use lasers or ACs.)

Talos + Drake vs. 3 Canes, Tornado, Ishtar, Stiletto and Sabre. Ignore the other kills which show up on related, we made those later. Ammo used was Null, because Void is useless in these fights.

Null is pretty nice. I feel totally comfortable staying at 25-30km in my Talos. I feel like I can apply reasonable DPS out to 35-40km if I really have to - certainly enough to solo a cane until some jerks ninja in on my kill. :P

Yeah, I always carry Null. I am really excited for this change. Allows for a tiny bit more range, and it will make a nice difference inside point range.

Im travelling - does anyone know what medium electrons/ions/neutrons range is with null before/after? Might be a real reason for Gal hulls to fit TEs more often over a second or third mag stab...

It is not "a tiny bit more range". This change will push Blasters into FOTM territory, while right now it's actually pretty balanced.

Null is my standard ammo on all my main Gallente ships (i.e. Deimos and Talos). I almost never use Void/AM unless it's for a quick gank.

Assault frigs are going to obsolete interceptors and faction frigs. Potentially cruisers and maybe some HACs too.

Its really easy to see what your blaster range is going to be. Load up your favorite ship with the default ammo (Iron, I believe). Multiple optimal and falloff times 1.4. I've done some work on this before and posted my results - you can feel free to browse my posting history to find it.

With a minor bit of EFT warrioring, looks to me Rokh with Neutrons/Null will have 17 optimal 18 falloff before other fittings. Probably around 22/28 with a few TEs/TCs fitted. EFT DPS of 864 with 3 magstabs, but tank won't be a whole lot with that much dps and range.
Even on the Rokh fitted with nothing but TEs/TCs, you're getting some three km extra falloff with this change. If Blasters become FOTM, I don't think this'll be the straw that broke the camel's back.

Edit: Aha, I did **** up. I forgot scripts. Still, absolute highest I can get with T2 fit now is 25/34. After is 25/37.8.
