Guy makes a channel for a specific purpose and you call him a dictator for setting rules and asking people to stay on topic?

Or is it the role play aspect that's so "wrong" here?

Fair enough. Perhaps a valid suggestion would be to use "((" mark as OOC (Out of Character) like I believe PIE Inc uses (used?). OP may be being a bit overly simplistic in his stated approach.

it just irks me in general when people beat the "sandbox" drum for years on end, and then everyone goes and tries to exert as many personal restrictions as they can on the sandbox

everything from stupid corp rules that restrict what a player can do to forcefully restricting what someone can say in a chat channel.

I understand the desire for people to RP (though I really can't fathom what RP general discussion even involves TBH, if you are not actively playing the game why would you just sit there blathering in character, but hey... to each his own).
I support it, but after many many many years (perhaps longer than some of you have been alive) of forums, irc, audio chat and a plethora of personal channels, I think I have a pretty good sense of when someone wants to be a kickmaster.

You may be right. If so his channel will surely wither and die.

It may anyway since it seems there is little room here for RP and sand castle building (at least for less established players).

Well, I log in to have fun. To take a break from real life, by enjoying this game. And what pisses me off is these retards, who just keep bullshiting about politics and all that crap! Who cares? You know that type of person, those are the ones who just keep talking about business when it's holidays and everyone else don't want to hear about business on holidays.

Why you even join into corporation, if you don't plan on playing it like they want? All large corporations in EVE have rules, and some are pretty strict. Can you work in team?
