Why there is no pirate battlecruiser?

I wonder if there was a time, when someone from CCP explained, why we do not have pirate faction battlecruisers? I do not count Gnosis. I mean - some serios ships, that would utilise bonuses from 2 races. Actually, there is no pirate destroyers too. But at least we have T3 destroyers.

Maybe because the price/performance could be too good for big entities if these ships were in swarm.

There would be some balance issues to contend with, but I see no reason why it couldn't go ahead in the future.

Maybe they wish to keep some option for future releases. On the other hand there already are too many ships in the universe for my taste. Every new ship devalues an existing one, tactical destroyers and logistics frigates come to mind as recent additions.

When pirate ships were conceived and then created there were no racial BC skills in the game. CCP used a combo of racial ship skills as the unlock for these ships and couldn't do that with battle cruisers. The skill was previously 'Battlecruiser' and not '(insert racial title here) Battlecruiser' as it is now.

Same with destroyers, by the way. It used to be a generic and not race specific skill.

I've been hoping that we'd see a pirate BC ever since they made the change, but alas, it seems CCP has moved past the whole pirate ship thing..

Think of a worm, but with more drones, more speed and tracking on those drone to give the usualy projection of destroyer and more missile damage because well, it has to be more. Probably more tank too.

Or replace Worm with Gila and destroyer with battlecruiser.

When they were first mooted at FanFest they were described as such... And not only their general capabilities but their links also suggest such a designation.
They make a lot more sense from a balance perspective if you think of them as BCs rather than extra-powerful Cerberus for example.

I heard along the grape vine at one point that there may be plans to make the Drifters ships available to players in the future. I do not recall where I heard this, but it definitely perked my interest, because the first time I saw a Drifter battleship I thought: "I want one."

There are plans to update the PvE too, so who is to say they won't update available faction ships?

faction BCs are actually fairly new, give it time

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value
