Drifters Quarterly Consultation Mixer

Author

Drake Ashigaru Alliance shall host an informal quarterly consultation mixer for all capsuleer pilots interested in sharing openly all known information about what many of us perceive as the "Drifter" threat.

We will discuss best practices for fitting ships that can successfully infiltrate Drifter wormhole space.

We will discuss best practices for fitting ships to survive Drifter attacks.

We will discuss best practices for fitting ships to gather information on Drifter activity.

The meetings are informal so please share anything you find relevant that will help foster greater understanding of what the Drifters are doing in New Eden.

The initial "Drifters Quarterly Consultation Mixer" will take place on the last Friday of the first quarter.
The location Krilmokenur 0.9, Erada, Heimatar, Krilmokenur VII, Moon 8, Republic Military School station.

We will start in Krilmokenur but shall rotate to a new location in another of the four empires each quarter to make sure that anyone's militia or DED standings does not completely disqualify them from participating if they choose to do so.

We are open to location suggestions that are in high security space in the Gallente, Caldari, & Amarr space. Please keep in mind some people have problems with Concord so as close to low sec systems that would minimize their exposure to zealous gate guns is preferable.

We would request that all participants grant safe passage to all other participants for a period of 24 hours before and 24 hours after each "Drifters Quarterly Consultation Mixer", regardless of their security or criminal status please to not fire upon fellow participants as they come or go from the meetings.

Watch this space for further details.

Sounds like a good idea. I do my best to make it out.

Any chance you can find a venue that has InterBus access?

No, no. You missed the point. The event is for swingers to meet under the pretense of discussing the Drifters.

The use of Drifter-based euphemisms is a requirement.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

If you're strictly looking to focus conferences only in hisec, rather then a rotational basis of the Big Four hosting, could you look at Yulai or Pakhshi, both CONCORD controlled? It'd be a truly neutral venue then, and allow full participation at any meeting rather then having to wait till the circus comes to one's town... So to speak.

Other then that I can only offer my support for this initiative. You and I have had strong words with each other before on this very forum, but I'm rather impressed and appreciative of this endevour.

I am of course open to all suggestions that can maximize participation from everyone who wants to take part constructively. Neutral locations are a good idea.

I think the point I am trying to make is that regardless of the past/present conflicts we all to some extent engage in here in New Eden if we do not survive the threat I believe the "Drifters" could represent our differences become meaningless. If they destroy humanity our wars and political/ religious disputes will be wiped from history. I would prefer that we all survive so that we can then once again get back to solving the problems we have created for each other jointly. I believe reason shall prevail one day amongst all the humans of New Eden, what the "Drifters" are and if they can be drawn into reasonable negotiations that would benefit humanity seems very unlikely and represents a clear and present danger to the continuation of our species, from my point of view.

Our mutual survival trumps our differences in my opinion.

I would agree with your sentiment in full. I look forward to attending these meetings where I can.

Well, no. I was joking. If I was serious I'd buy you a cocktail with a barbiturate chaser.

The importance of picking your words carefully.

Mr. Ronin? I really like this idea, but you might want to consider maybe renaming it? "Mixer" has ... implications. Hence the jokes.

It might take a little while for the snickering to die down, even so, but....

I prefer a mixture of two parts dark rum, two parts coffee liqueur, one part chocolate liquer, and a shot of blue pill served in a tall chilled glass topped with Caldari buttermilk.

That's great, but I'm celibate and cannot condone its use.
