Dust 514 Refugees?

About a decade ago, The Matrix Online closed. A lot of the "refugees", myself included, came to Eve Online.

What, if anything, is being done to provide for the Dust 514 refugees?

Do we have to wait until FanFest for the announcements?

Shhh. I'd like the OP to elaborate on his sense of entitlement before flaming begins.

I include you in my prayers every night, before I go to bed ... except fridays and saturdays. On those two days I tend to forget how I got to bed in the first place.

I also keep a kettle of tea, carrots and a vacuum cleaner ready at all times. You never know, when a Dust 514 refugee knocks on your door.

  • The vacuum cleaner is to get rid off any excess dust.
  • The carrots are to feed the hungry Dust Bunny.
  • ... and who wouldn't want a cup of hot tea to warm the body and soul ?

Don't anger the forum gods.

im a dust 514 "refugee" from a couple years back.

nothing should be done ,
they will either start voraciously consuming their lesser peers or become prey themselves just like the rest of us did.

We set up a camp in Jita near the mall so they can be more efficiently fleeced for what they're worth.

This, we hope, will encourage them to stay with us and build a future in gaming.

The idea, the plan is, that they can one day fleece someone for all they possess should be all the impetus required.

Or, not.

As long as the tale of the hunt is told by the hunter, and not the lion, it will favor the hunter.

What's with the pointless ridicule in this thread? CCP has a chance to pick up some dust bunnies into EVE at little cost if they have a migration plan in place.

Giving them a path to hop to EVE can only help overall, and they already have names/corps/SPs/ISK/etc.

Do you guys think there is too many players playing atm so you shoot down any idea that could bring a few people to EVE at no cost to you?

I was 100% serious with my response ,
The predator/prey dynamic is what hooked me and what keeps me playing.

I would expect some to also see it and thrive,
others to recoil in horror and go play home world or whatever eve dropouts do with themselves these days.

Personally I'll be spending an inordinate amount of time reading the forums , keeping an eye out for them and giving advice where appropriate and mercilessly slagging off the inevitable whining entitled that can't reconcile with the reality of the game.

The Migration plan CCP have mentioned involves a later migration of those names and work they have done (though maybe not on a 1 for 1 basis) to the new shooter. Not to EVE. So there is no migration plan and there never will be a migration plan to EVE.

Not like this, not like this...

Don't worry, CCP is building refugee camps for the 514 players as we speak. They will each get a hot meal, a nylon tent and two cartridges of ammunition. Of course, there may be some discontinuity of aid, so don't be surprised if you see a few of the homeless with signs reading "Will headshot for food".

As far as Eve goes, probably nothing. You either start playing Eve just like the rest of us or don't. This isn't like Romance of the Three Kingdoms games where you can get unlocks for having saves from previous titles in the series, unfortunately. Considering the fact that the Eve-Dust connection was never really well nurtured at all even after, what, three years, I'd put money on the claim that that will not change either in the future.

You might get something if you're a Dust player when CCP's other titles they are working on come into fruition. I'm sure CCP will have something for the new shooter I've heard is in the works with respects to former Dust players.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Rumor has it that Helmer will transport players to the nearest rail hub so that he will finally deliver on the "Walking in Station" pledge.

To buck the popular trend, I began to Rage Start instead of Rage Quit.

...and every time I get another piece of Carbon, I know exactly what CCP is getting this Christmas.

If they're still on the PS3, then they are poors anyway and won't be able to afford the skill injectors to be competitive in Eve, so stuff them. They should go get real jobs and come back when they don't need to be refugees.

CCP should have no problems finding a place for all 7 dust players.
