There are about 8000 systems in EVE you know. The only way removing intel is acceptable is if enough systems are deleted to bring this down to a reasonable number.

I'm not a fan either but Jesus man, you are not helping.

I will adapt, the merc trade will too but I do think some updates for war mechanics are in order.

So as long as we're killing free, accurate intel; when is local dying in a fire?

Or are we only cockblocking intel that increases, rather than decreases risk?

Needs a reduction in locator agent cost, return time and reuse time to compensate.

It negatively impacts defenders too, since it's equally impossible for them watchlist aggressors. So the operate as normal but dock when a war target logs in behavior becomes impossible.

Thank goodness trade hub campers, everyone's favorite highsec PVPers are totally unaffected.

I was just thinking that myself ( about hub/pipe humpers )

And yeah I'll agree on the locator buff, for the amount of effort you need to go to for the standing to use them they won't offer anywhere near a reasonable amount of intel as they stand.

Depends on where imo. Like it has been said a million times, local is the tinder of fw lowsec. It is used so those that want to fight, can find if there are any in system who also wants to fight or if it is empty. There is no reason to make roaming even more lame in fw lowsec. Most people there have limited time, and want to get to the PVP fast without scouting forever (you know the intent behind fw).

On topic: I am pretty neutral towards the watchlist changes, though I cannot deny that I on days were I don't feel like fleeting up, check if my ceo (who expects you to join fleets no matter what) is on from a secret alt Twisted

"I'm all for pvp, don't get me wrong. I've ganked in Empire, blobed in low sec. Got T-shirts from every which-where.. But to be forced into a pvp confrontation that I didn't want is wrong ccp." RealFlisker

This is going to make hunting in wormhole space miserable.

I can literally be sitting on a POS watching someone (diligently doing my own intel!) and not know what happened. Did he warp out of the POS and cloak? Did he warp out of the POS and log out? I don't know because they look the same! How long should we wait around to find out? 1 hour? 2 hours?

Free intel OP? Um...No. Being able to suddenly disappear from the world without a trace is OP.

And yeah I know. Abloohoo my supers. But you can't destroy the game for the sake of the meta game. I mean...come on.

Apparently that's fine and we should all have the space C.I.*******.A. set up to keep tabs on people ...Roll

Thank you for reaffirming my decision to leave. Watchlists aren't just for supers, and space is too big to hunt people without in game tools.

  • What else are they for that would cause you to leave when they go away?
  • Can I haz your stuff?
  • locator agents

You're clearly new, and should probably stop talking now.

It's literally "nullsec whined, so screw everyone in every other type of space". Standard CCP modus operandi. Total lack of consideration to the affect something has on the game outside of narrow scope of the portion of the playerbase represented by the CSM who whine at them consistently about things that don't actually matter or are contrary to the interests of most of the actual playerbase.

This has literally been how it works for as long as I've been playing the game.

Normally I stick up for them, or at least join the HTFU/adapt crowd. I really do love the game they've put together and the sandbox concept is pretty unique. But holy crap, this is going to have a major negative impact on content in wormhole space. And when you add the other astonishingly foolish things they've been coming out with lately (beta map...FAX books...etc.) it really makes you wonder, how do they not anticipate these things?

I feel like I'm watcing "Really?" with Seth and Amy on SNL. Really CCP?

That's how bittervets are born. CCP spews "this no stupid?" into their echo chamber, echo chamber says "...no stupid, ...no stupid, ...no stupid" and there you go with another CCP stupid on your lawn.

In any other company, there would be a design paper on why does this function exist, so future developers could look at the source and check against the issue they're facing.

I don't care of what abuses do PvPrs with it. It's not a PvP tool, it's a tool to ease contact with friends in this social game. And I don't need another tool to keep an eye on my friends; CCP needs to come with a solution to the "spais" that don't messes with everybody not a PvPr. Like, can't get online status for anyone not neutral or better.

Yet then we're talking about the company that deleted 50+ language channels because they didn't had the balls to start banning Russian trolls abusing the Ukrainian channel... there's alwasy a smaller child to beat the sh*t out if you can't mess with the big boys.

Nah, just haven't been around long enough to care before. Also I can tell the difference between actual problems and people just being entitled brats.

This will mean more active intel gathering. Hunters will have to convince this capship pilot they're hunting that they are, in fact, a friend (or: support ship) so they can find their target. Or they will just have to puzzle out the clockwork of the guy's routine by more direct observation.

How are location agents going to work now? You pay 250K and the guy says "Sorry, the scumbag is not on right now. Thanks for the money." ?

How do mercs like this change now that they can't tell if their targets are online or not?

Locator agents don't tell you the online/offline status of someone you search for anyway, do they?

I've never noticed that anyway. Always just location.

According to the Reddit thread, apparently there'll be a toggle you can select to show people your status.

This could be a good thing for wardecs. If you're logged in but AFK, toggle it on so people think you're online, but when you're active, switch it off so they don't know unless they try to convo you.
