Thanks for the tips, I'll try going deeper into low and null sec to see if I can find some more rare ore. I do recall doing some faction warfare, I almost got my first kill doing it. I will also do some missions in low sec, I didn't know it was more rewarding to do them depending on the security. Also, how do I unlock different level agents? If I recall I have to be of a certain standing right?

Please don't go mining in low / null sec systems until you know what you are doing.
You will lose more than you earn. There are enough people like me making sure that such is the case.

Your question basically comes down to 'how can I afford to learn PVP'.
You can start by doing lots of high sec activities flying different ships. Try hauling stuff. Scan down data sites. Do security missions with speed tank / buffer tank / active tank.
You will gain the knowledge and understanding of what each ship fitting can do and cannot do. You will understand what your 'future' victims will be like. All while earning some ISK and standing.

Oh, also a tip on 'affordable pvp' : Making ISK is one way. Spending less is another approach. Don't waste money on expensive stuff unless you are sure that you NEED that stuff in your fitting.

First thing first find a corp. You will get great advice just like you are getting hear. All the ways to make isk are important parts of EVE. So dont discount any activity, just find what you like to do. That will be easier with a great corp. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=topics&f=265 start here. There is a ingame recruitment channel get in on that. If you are not feeling a corp find another, but give people a chance. Dont move to much then people will think your a spy.
Now my pitch. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=6344148#post6344148

The best way to make ISK is trying to combine it with the things you like. For example I like to solo roam lowsec, while hunting for prey, loot and the rare good fight, I'm also killing clone soldiers for tags to sell for ~30m and run some combat exploration sites dropping faction stuff. Other I like to run relic sites in deep nullsec, although not that aggressive PvP, it's quite a lot of evasive PvP P, for about 100m-150m ISK/h. But the most ISK recently I made with the holiday events and the skill extractor arbitrage. So it's good to watch out for opportunities of every kind...

I'm my own NPC alt.

Best way to make ISK is trading, but it requires some cash, brains, knowledge of the game and it might be boring for some, because you never leave the station (unless you widen your area of operations), so a trading alt might be a good idea if you decide to do it. You know what they say - money goes to money, so the more you have, the more you make, making these 200 mil/hour trivial at some point.

Oh, and last, but not least it requires very careful modifying/placing orders, one mistake can get you days back, if not weeks.
