New Industrial Ship recommendation - The Otter

Though we know Gallente is king of purpose-built transports (Epithal, Kryos, Miasmos, and the Drone-wielding Nereus) and the Minmatar coming up an only-other second with the Hoarder, one of my least favorite things to do is running and fueling our POS complement.

That being said, since the Caldari tower is one of the favorites for reactions (running 3 reactions at once), I'm suggesting the new transport be of the Caldari lineage.

Basing it on the Tayra, I'd suggest a hold of 100k m3 for only Fuel blocks. Especially with the citadel's coming out, I think it might be the ideal addition.

All DSTs have the same max capacity, and can haul fuel in the fleet hangar. Not 100k m3, but 60k+ m3 will last a loooong time.

Except none of the 3 new Citadels will be using fuel.

Except ALL of them will be using fuel for every service module you fit to them...

This is a decent proposal to be honest: fuel blocks are one of those items you do find yourself hauling a lot of in one go, like ore, minerals or PI materials. It makes sense.

I'd keep the cargo hold nearer to 45k (before skills) like the other specialist haulers, and obviously it would share their fragility so DSTs keep their edge.

Why not?

makes sense. +1

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.

Sure, but let's make specialist haulers' specialty bays have a smaller base storage but be increased by cargohold expanders.

FT Diomedes: "Reaver, sometimes I wonder what you are thinking when you sit down to post."

Frostys Virpio: "We have to give it to him that he does put more effort than the vast majority in his idea but damn does it sometime come out of nowhere."

Yes, a DST. A very expensive ship. My purpose was a T1 ship that can perform the specific function of hauling fuel blocks, including the new blocks that will be coming out with Citadels.

We have the other T1 specialized haulers, and I see being reasonable with regards to starting size of 41-45k like the rest increasing with skill.

It's not a big change, and certainly not a game-changer that I can see. It would serve as a nice utility addition for those of us who maintain a large number of POS's.

As a former POS director for my corp, I really like this idea. It would see a lot more use than the ammo hauler.

One small addendum: enable the hold to carry blocks, stront, charters and isotopes so it's a true fuel truck that can feed structures and capitals alike.
