Do you get any reduction on small materiel count bpo's when fully researched?. Or is it only if you do large runs of that bpo of say 100 small rigs. If each run requires 1 burned logic for example, can I round it off to 10 runs per job and that will set up for the -10 = 1 less burned logic?.

Rouding happens at job level, rather than run level. (And it's a ceiling, rather than a round)

However, if a run requires 1 thing, you cannot reduce it further.

So you can reduce a 2 to a 1.9, and only need 19 on a 10 run job

But you can't reduce a 1 to a 0.9. you'll still need 10 for a 10 run job.

Woo! CSM XI!

easy answer, for BPOs like small rigs, if you're doing anything less than 10 runs for a job, you're not saving anything. For one off's where your material counts are 1 each, you might as well be using an unresearched BPO.

I see, thnx.

I use a parity on medium t1 rig and it gives +4 runs as I'm sure you know. Something that bothers me though, is that although it has 3% ME reduction 4 runs is not enough to benefit from it. I don't mind that as it's 4 runs but it seems misleading that it reads as a saving when none is to be had.

What I also have noticed is that such items you will not use a parity with will then have such a low ME so no benefit there. Perhaps t2 2 run ship bpc stand to benefit from such small ME increases?.

Another thing I do somewhat dislike is the complete irrelevance of the BPO ME/TE level prior to any invention. Even if all it done was slightly increased success probability and slightly reduced invention time of the T2 bpc it would be a reason and reward for having those bpo's researched, it would be something. All I've read so far suggests you need not bother researching any bpo if it's not a require product of the T2 item.

Required Material = MAXIMUM( runs, CEILING( runs * base material amount * (1 - ME %) * any other material multipliers like facilities ))

CEILING essentially rounds fractions up, so 10.1 becomes 11.

Technically CEILING(X) yields the smallest integer that is not less than X [only really makes a difference when working with negative numbers].
