I've seen anti tanked freighters that would be easier to kill I think. add slave implants and it doesn't bare thinking about.

Just be aware, alot of folks may tell you Brs are safe in high sec and they probably are... statistically. I've played Blockade runner lucky dip though and I seen others doing it to along with pop the pod, alpha the shuttle. and other such games. On the other hand the two strategies that seem to work 100% are either use a deep space transport or a transport tengu. Both are frankly over powered.

So just be aware that people may attack you even if your empty, just to see if you "might" be carrying something.

I would second this. BRs are not very safe in HS. Sooner or later someone will pop you simply because your immune to scanners, so they want to gamble on you having something good. Think about it, there are people who will pop every blockade runner they can, no matter what, but they will scan your DST, see the loot isn't worth the trouble and leave you alone.

I would use a combo of a DST and an interceptor and just keep your cargo value under a bil

A quad i-stab exploration frig (the t1 ones) can insta - warp with 400m3 of stuff, it can probably be worth it too

2s-to-warp is NOT insta-warp, it can still be locked.

BRs are perfectly safe to use in highsec assuming you use proper tactics.

When at a gate, always cloak after initiating warp.
Have insta undocks setup at every station you will be using.
Have 0 docking bookmarks at every station you will be using.

These three simple things will keep you safe 99.9% of the time. If you can't be locked, you can't be blapped.

I disagree. Even doing all that you can lose one to the one guy on his game with an instalocker. I've been on both ends of that.

By far the safest way to fly is to stay under the radar, any BR in HS does the opposite of that and puts a target on its back

Again, I'm not sure how you get caught by an instalocker if you are never available to lock. Using the tactics I outlined you will never be available to be locked.

To each his own, but I have been hauling for longer than I have been ganking and I have never been caught in a BR unless it was my own fault.

As ganker I'm not going to waste my time hunting people who are using proper tactics so all this fear seems irrational to me.

Thanks for all the different views. It seems that every possible decision and consideration can have the exact opposite result as intended, purely because of people.

The first ship I lost was also a Venture in Amarr while just get something to drink fast. Seems to be a welcome ritual. :)

I could downgrade the Tengu fitting to 1B with 280k EHP (vs. 340k), at the cost of lower warp speed but without Implants. This seems more reasonable for the 3.5B I would safe. Lol

So in the end, I will need a Hecate, a Tengu, an Impel and a Prorator to cover all potential situations.
And then jump into the wrong ship for the wrong trip.

I already have undock and dock bookmarks, but I read something about bookmarks on the jump gates with different angles to the gate. What are they good for?

Instadocks still give a very small window to the right sebo'ed gankers.

Transport tengus can be downgraded sure until you get the ISK to add to its defensives. I would still prefer it to the BR. the reason being if you meet me or someone like me on the perimeter gate and jitas not letting you in, your tengu is safe. So is my wreathe. That BR though? thats in trouble. Oh fly it properly it has a cloak? yeah... You know how easy it is to decloak stuff on a crowded gate?

I'd guess jumpgate bookmarks would be "perch" points. Basically if you are in say perimeter rather then flying a direct line too the jita gate from one of the others, then appear right on the same spot as everyone else, you can fly up from the gate say 100km and make a bookmark. now you will be able to warp to that point, out of the way of all the traffic on the gate. You can watch there for gankers or war targets and if the gate is safe just warp down to it and be on your way. Its something I use in low sec never bothered in high sec, as my defense in high sec is to just not be worth the time.

I've had it happen once even with that. Granted that was one time in years of flying, but still
