Hey o/

I have two suggestions, and I hope you'll agree the need of them after reading - here goes:

The "selected item" window ( SIW* ) is used for navigation and orbitting/keeping at range, right?

In fact, this is the cockpit as is, it's what we got, and truth be told, it needs work - True, for a group flight, who needs it, theres mostly just one goal: "find it and blobb it", which is fine, but when you start to perfect the art of EVE Online spaceship flying, the need for more controls starts to appear, and hence this suggestion:

We need a second tab in the SIW, with the same functions as the default one - range and orbit.

They are needed and utterly important, simple as that.

Reason is: Orbiting changes from enemy to enemy, and from PVE to PVP. As an explorer, my ships needs both functions, but at different ranges - for instance: In an Ishtar 8/10 DED capable PVE/site setting, I want to orbit at 85000 meters, while my drones does the killing, and I speed tank out of range, with all aggro. However, since I'm in lowsec, I need to be able to change "default orbit range" and "keep at range" settings, very fast, if hostiles show up - Quickly changing tabs from PVE to PVP would solve that, and hence the need.

Thats the first bit.

Secondly, the orbit is so far ( as far as i see it ) a matter of chance - theres no way to control the direction of the ship, you just orbit, and hope the direction is useful.

That's a problem.

A system ( and I'm sorry, I have no idea how it should look ) to adjust your orbit, possibly prior to leaving warp, would be great. ( Saying, for instance - i know i'll be fighting in a C shaped Belt - then I'd want a vertical orbit, rather then a horisontal one - and vice versa on clustered belts - I'd want an horisontal orbit and so forth ) - A hotkey with "a slideable spheare" might do it - A quick push and a fast turn of the mouse and the ship will allign to that orbit maybe? Idk - your the Dev's, but in any case its needed.

Anyways, plz consider this, and implement em soon - PVP can be done, but turning it into the pristines is faulty due to these limitations.

Thank you for an otherwise magnificent game.

I like your orbit change idea.

A 3D bubble with a way of spinning the orbit, and even the ability to change it to an increasing eliptical orbit would be nice. Something that was always available on your overview in space or station hangar. Could use the CarbonUI features, as that is what they were effectively designed for.

Beats double clicking multiple times to change direction and manage your own orbit and distance, while somehow also managing guns, overheat, target aquisition, etc...

You know, I like the idea. Changing the way we orbit could be useful, and that we need to be able to have multiple predefined settings for "orbit" and "keep at range" function, that goes without saying!

Tabs are one thing, and I agree they would be cool, but having more than one predefined value for keep at range and orbit, that's needed too, because different ammo types have different optimal and falloff ranges.

Your right, and thank you for supporting.

Kind regards
