masstest rewards should change?

with the extractors and injectors taking the major skill resource , the 2mill sp for evry masstest is now pointless as you can buy 10 injectors and have the sp anyway . was thinking more testing wise

the masstest reward should be changed to

a) notthing , so no change
b) seed the deadspace/faction/officer modules to LP store and award players with LP points for the masstests
c) give them one ship and fittings of their choose .
d) reward with AT ships for the masstests?

what you thing since the mastest rewards are now worthless because of skill inject/extract thing.

It's nice to know someone is thinking about this, but of course, with new things comes new problems, more problems equals more stress and stress is never good.

1) This would be the more obvious one. SP is globally good, there's no good or bad answer, it's just simple and simple is better. The only way they can improve it going by the extraction & injection multiples and changing the SP reward to a higher value to compensate.

2) The LP DS/Fac/Off modules options sounds really nice, gives incentive to join in on mass tests, but of course if someone has a massive amount of LP in the faction of CCP's choosing, the rest would be burdened.

3) The ship/module combination they choose can be overly tough (Apocalypse Imperial Issue comes to mind), and they'd have to have the required skills to use that ship and mods along with it, and knowing some people they'll attempt to acquire now unavailable ships and/or modules, or ISD/GM only modules just to troll, which quite frankly would just get on CCP's backs and they'd deny it anyway.

4) AT ships are a nice choice actually, the Fiend & Imp are pretty awesome among the honorable mentions, but again as option '3' if they lose that ship it can't be replaced, whereas skill points can be through extracting & injecting. Thereby making it impractical unless they get a set stack of the ship/module.

That was a lot of fun. Got a few good mods myself a few times.

We are actually looking at alternative incentives at the moment. Anyone who has ideas is welcome to contribute (that don't involve TQ rewards). Some we've been floating so far:

  • Keeping it as it is
  • Removing incentives entirely
  • Have an "LP Store" that you can buy things we don't seed in, and you earn LP for participating in mass tests
  • Tier seeding "unlocks" for test attendance, which would persist for an amount of time. E.g. 1000 attending mass tests unlocks Faction mod seeding, 2000 Deadspace mods, etc.

  • Id say this is a bad idea.
Players would be rewarded with mods being seeded even if they were not the ones on mass tests, efficiently lowering the overall number of masstesters as they might gain things even if not participating.

  • Imho this is the best choice.
I know quite a few players will try to gain LP so they can gain privilege to use faction mods like this.

I agree with the LP store idea, sounds like a pretty good incentive to get people into Mass tests - the SP thing doesnt really seem like much of a good incentive these days.

That last may be something you should reconsider. Here is my idea:
You go to an agent and get a mission: help test new systems. This requires you do a mass test. After the mass test, some sort of certificate shows up in your cargo. It allows you to complete the test mission. Rewards would be comparable to what you would make if you were doing missions on TQ for about one hour. That last keeps it balanced.

    Ooo i like this idea!

Could you do tiered rewards to seed things that we dont usually have access too on TQ? i.e - the deployable arena that AT teams can deploy to test setups or the impossibly rare ships like the fed thron / storm etc?

Maybe opening up /moveme to include more destinations and wormhole systems?

The mass test server benefits greatly in having skillpoints available to test new ships and fits.

However, I for one do not really need to be rewarded to take part, if the test didn't always involve jumping the same gates and shooting/fighting the same way every time, that would be nice. Why not drop us all into a Drifter incursion when you want to try that, give us some unexpected surprises 😄 Something to get people talking about, and therefore pull in more next time!

The server would benefit with having 7-10m skill-points extractable and reapplicable, by whatever means, so different things could be tested in conjunction with copyskills to allow for our baseline skills. And no one then stresses about mirrors.

Thanks again for all your work.

is this mainly for the risk reward bit in TQ .. 0 risk in sisi to get some reward in TQ .. but .. what about some uniqe item ... ship skin that is untradeble .. something like .. make up a hole line of skins for every ship in eve every time u take a part of a mass test u get the one ship´s skin u are flying in some key moment of the test .. makes peapole come in difrent ships to these tests ..

    just a toght here :)

What about just removing extractors and injectors from SISI? One of the unique things about the server was being able to effectively train 2 queues at once when factoring for TQ and copyskills. TBQH skill extractors on SISI doesn't add enough to the server to compete with the loss of copyskills (especially for players actually using T3's in combat)

I wouldn't want to hijack the thread but IMO the Deadspace mods should be seeded on Sisi anyway. I don't use t2 mods on my faction ships. Why aren't they seeded while the faction ships are?

I've asked the question before and their reason is "it doesn't assist in testing" and that people only fit deadspace stuff in that event.

I guess? I think that's kind of the whole point? It's not like losses on SISI mean anything and there's no moderation of the combat areas anyway.
