I am a wormhole PI bear, a nullsec market trader and the hunted.

I belong to and help make the small group. I have no love for the largest player groups.

I believe in the circle of gank. The good PVP pilot will defeat the Ganker. The good Ganker will catch the Evasion pilot, The good Evasion pilot will evade the PVP pilot.

Once on the CSM, I will encourage CCP to consider gameplay compatible with 'us'. ('They' will already be represented)

Eve is already one to the strongest 'market' games. Real destruction leads to real construction. I have some little things I would like to see fixed (Selling below buy orders, buying above sell orders for one)

For some controversy:

  • I think warp core stabs encourage hunter pilots to differentiate between being a PVPer or a ganker.
  • I think NPC's should do less, and players should do more (whether it is market seeding, or even player faction militia having the rights of NPC faction police)
  • I like the fragmentation of nullsec created by Fozzie Sov

I am a part time blogger, and have a series of posts for those interested in the CSM : http://foo-eve.blogspot.com.au/search/label/CSM

"I think warp core stabs encourage hunter pilots to differentiate between being a PVPer or a ganker."

All ganking is PVP. All PVP (to one extent or another, or in one area or another) is ganking. Therefore, your proposal is just so much more dust on the wind.

Surprisingly enough .. my 'proposal' is to support and encourage existing fitting choices, for both the hunter and hunted alike.

I entered faction warfare on an alt, with one of my 'todo' jobs being hunting the stab fit farmer. It wasn't that hard. I however did not have the fit (or player skills) to succeed 1v1 against 'standard' fit ships.

That's just poetic bullshit.

There's a world of difference between the two, anyone that's ever been in a combat role/fleet will tell you that.
Ganking doesnt require skills, just greater numbers. PvP is 1 on 1(+), it requires tactical skill as well as the time taken to train skills. The only similarity, is that PvP and ganking both involve capsuleers.

Anyway, I digress; I can't think of anyone better to run for a CSM position than Foo. His knowledge of the EVE universe far exceeds that of anyone I have met/spoken to during my brief time here.

Most people can and will tell you what to do, why you should do it and how best to do it. From the many killboards, to the forums, to the blogposts; everyone has an opinion on what's best.

Foo doesn't just do that, he goes further. He listens to what it is that you are trying to achieve and then explains what it is you need to do to achieve the results you are looking for. He has an answer to the question you havent even figured out you need to ask.

In my humble opinion that is a great quality, a great skill. Listening to people and then helping them achieve their goals, efficiently. Isn't that what someone on any kind of Council should do?
Listen to you and liaise with governing bodies.

Hi there,

Just listened to your interview on the CSM Watch series - congratulations on being one of the few interviewees (so far) that can string a sentence together without losing the thread.

I play solo in a C2 WH, mainly doing indy activities, as I don't really enjoy the PvP aspect of the game (or that of MMOs in general), so it's refreshing to hear from someone that has those interests in mind going into the CSM election.

Keep up the good work, you have my 2 votes coming your way Big smile

Thanks to Cap Stable for the interview.

Thanks to Dante for the kind words. If you, or anyone else wants any given candidate on the CSM (preferably me) , spread the word.

Hi DoToo Foo

Pls can I ask if you think it would be a viable request to CCP to allow single player ships who are out and about in Null, low or High trying to enjoy parts of them game not involving PVP or wanting to engage in pvp at that time to have ONE EVAC mod, OR ability to use once every 24 hours or 48 hours for example so when a gank group turn up to just destroy your ship when you have no chance of figthting back you at least have the option like i said above to use an evac that instantly warp your ship back to a safe spot/home station - be like a jump clone but for ships.

I know so many ppl who get fed up with the game and stop playing because they were out trying to enjoy other elements of the game and then lose 2-3 ships in 1-2 days or even just a few hours because they just keep gettig ganked while trying to enjoy something in the game instead of pvp, ing.

I truly belive you should have one chance every now and again to evade a gank group even if the ability can only be used once a week (although I believe it should be more like once every 24-48 hours) If the pilot decides to go out again with their ship after using the evac then its there decision then to risk losing their ship while not being prepared or wanting to pvp in the ship they are in.

Please let me know your thoughts on this

P.S I also belive you should be able to use this ability if you are completely solo - so not in a fleet or a group with your friend - YOU MUST be playing solo to use this ability. It could be rig you can fit or module or just a new ability added to all ships. Anyway these all just a variety of suggestions regarding this one topic on evac'ing your ship to safety.

Thanks

I am generally the hunted rather than the hunter.

We already have modules that allow us to escape unwanted PVP.

Cloaks, Warp core stabs, ECM, Sensor damps, staying aligned.

Cyno ships, especially covert cynos when you are in a Blackops battleship, work well.

For everywhere but wormholes we have local (especially useful in null and lowsec). Even in wormholes there are plenty of explorers.

Solo players abound in Eve, https://evehermit.wordpress.com/ is well worth the read.

If there was such a module as suggested, I would never have experienced http://foo-eve.blogspot.com.au/2013/01/a-brush-with-fweddit.html . I very much enjoyed getting out in one piece.

We have the modules we need, if we but have the wits and sometimes luck to use them. Occasionally I fail.

I want keeping our ships intact to mean something. It is it's own challenge.

I've known Foo for several years now and can honestly say he goes the extra mile to lend a helping hand and shows concern for others while having a wealth of knowledge about the dynamics of EVE as they pertain to PvE and PvP, especially in wormholes.

Honestly can't think of a better candidate for CSM who will represent and look out for the interests of wormholes and their inhabitants as it is conducive to balanced gameplay.

Since your a fellow PI'er you get my vote. Hopefully you will address the ridiculous lack of updates required to bring PI into the current modern interface of EVE. It is the ONLY aspect of EVE not upgraded and long overdue.

Is it really necessary to have white mining extractor on top of a white ice planet over a white minerals overlay? White on white on white is incredibly painful to stare at when doing PI. Please, oh dear lord, if someone could address this issue. I am tired of banging my head against the forum requests to get this changed.

The best ship in EVE....is friendship =)

There are times that Eve's default colour map's choices are ... interesting ... to the point of preventing some players playing parts of the game. What I find difficult to read, others find impossible.

I should be fighting with other players, or red crosses on a map, and not with a colour pallette.

Thanks Niko, Rhivre and Syrinx.
