Ive probably missed something. But whenever i hit the d-scan button the d-scan window just freezes and shows no results.

Holding v and clicking doesnt seem to work either (as per patch notes).

The new d-scan is aweful with the slowly populating window. Why do you want to sacrifice functionality for dumb eye candy? I actually pvp, the new scanner is shite. The probing window that comes with the new dscan isnt connected with the overview so i have to mouse over every single anomaly to find where i want to probe. Plain useless. Stop it.

Again, could CCP make the new options at least as good as the old ones before breaking the old ones? Im really losing patience with this sort of thing. TBH its the small things that **** me off the most. It makes no sense that you cannot redesign something to be at least as good as the old design.

The new camera for example, is sluggish and has massively disproportional x and y speeds making kiting really hard. All the features of the camera have to be turned off to make it even usable and even then the lack of inertia damping (especially on zoom) leaves you fighting the camera to get it facing the way you want it. Which is a major problem when that is the primary input method for manually piloting.

Did you really get rid of all the best talent?

Gonna be honest - when CCP tries to improve UI, it is almost always worse and los3es functionality. When they improve the art alone, its better. When they work on mechanics, it usually comes out better.

But stop ******* up the UI for the love of god, old map was 10x better, old scan map was better, old scan window was better, old dscan was better, etc.

I run the game from the executable, seems there was a non mandatory fix fromt he launcher for this dscan problem. I am placated for the moment. Until the new camera, scan and probing windows become compulsory.

V clicking works for me, if you have rebound "refresh dscan" then that is the keys you have to hold instead of "V"

The delayed scan has been confirmed to not have been intended, and is being removed later this week.

If you go into your options you can customize the camera quite a bit, fixing many of the problems you describe.

Ya, i dont want to use the new dscan until its compulsory because the probing window which comes with it is horrible.

My problems were with the old dscan (which doesnt use the v keybind) which were fixed in a non compulsory patch from the launcher which i was not aware of.

EVE UI design philosophy is make it look flashy, functionality be damned. Past, present, future.

You can use the new dscan and the old probing window at the same time.

What is the new DScan/Probe - does not change at all if I toggle that option.

I noticed the slowly updating DScan as well. I was disappointing. The "improved" map, "improved" camera, and now the "improved" DScan is really making me sad. I get that they need to update the look and feel of things, and even I would like things to be prettier, but sacrificing functionality is not the way to do it. The map/scanning map and DScan are functional tools of this game used by almost every pilot.

Sacrificing functionality for visual updates hurts everyone in eve.
