Market dumping in Amarr

Writing this from work, so only have limited info. Will go get some Jita info later from home.
I always keep an eye on a few select items spread across different sectors of the market where I have ISK invested.
Just had my usual daily nose around the market and something seems to be up.
From minerals to tech 2 someone or someones appear to be dumping stock heavily on buy orders in Amarr.
I am assuming it's a rush to get hold of liquid ISK, again assuming, and then to put that ISK into something else.
Anyone know what's going on?
Seems like quite a big bump to me.

Also reading this from work (do any of us even bother doing our jobs?)

Could just be dumping liquid as you say in prep for the citadels patch, that being said though alot of PI Salvage stront and pretty much anything else is now being horded players could just be dumping early at already inflated prices compared to when the news first hit.

lol @ 26mil stront being bought up at jita on the 11th right after the stront announcement too :)

To be fair though as a hardcore station trader myself for years this is quite normal items have peaks and trofs in general but id guess your initial thoughts were correct.

I'm not talking about the usual peaks and troughs.
I'm talking about people dumping large volumes on buy orders. It takes a lot of buy orders to absorb the dump. The effect being that the gap between buy and sell orders opens up quite a lot.
Also whoever is dumping is taking a lower and lower price each time from successive buy orders. They are sacrificing profit for speed of liquidity. The scale of it seems scarily large. I don't have enough data to genuinely confirm it myself, but once I get home I'll be doing some digging. If it's really as big as my surface scratch made it look, this weekend is going to be very interesting times in the Eve market :)

It also seems to be happening on items I would consider good invest-able items. It looks like someone with a wide and deep portfolio is dumping and accepting a cost for dumping just to get into ISK.

It's the opposite of riding the peaks and troughs, it's "sell sell sell".

A lot of people are liquidating assets to purchase skill injectors.

Sounds like someone "quitting" the game.

In Jita trit and fuel blocks have nosedived, and everything else - everyone is liquidating everything to get skill injectors before the initial rush wears off

It sounds like if everyone is doing it, that it may not be a good investment............

The view from the Jita market window is you're all forked :)
Supply requires the balance of demand. Even PLEX are suffering.
Injectors will be one of the most painful investments in the history of Eve :)
Ironically if you made your liquidity, PLEX is probably the best investment now.

This is really going to hurt a lot.
Profit to be made :)

If you think this is a big sellup, just wait until the Citadel BPOs are around the corner.

I'm keeping a lot of ISK liquid, far far more than ever before, just ready to act at that point.

I support the New Order and CODE. alliance. www.minerbumping.com

Good to hear the info, it will make my Amarr tradings more accurate and give me a more exact break-even point margin of error.

I guess it would be good to buy low (or the lowest rather than low, and be undercut even lower by the lowest).

Builds ship in empty Quafe bottle.
