The current "This week in EVE" gives an overview of the previous week from February 6th to February 12th

Dev blogs and announcements
Reworking Capital Ships: Skills, Modules and Refitting - Feedback
More information about the Force Auxiliary capital ships which are coming with the EVE: Citadel expansion this spring. Ship stats, the transition from Triage Carriers to Force Auxiliaries and more! Please note that you do not require a new FAux Skill; those who have already purchased that skill book and have trained the skill will get reimbursed.

Structure fitting in the EVE: Citadel expansion - Feedback
The Citadel expansion is drawing closer and with that we have more information available about the Citadel structures. Lots of new information how you can fit those new behemoths in space, which modules (high, med, and slow slots) and rigs will be available and what fuel you need (both simply onlining and keeping the modules active will require sets of fuel).

Unboxing the new Camera in EVE Online - Feedback
With the release on February 9 we also got a new camera views in EVE! The 16 year old camera code was replaced by new code. This new code allows us to have multiple, special purposed cameras that can happily live side by side including a first person view. If you want to, you can simulate the old camera by adjusting the camera speed slider in the settings menu.

February Release has been deployed on February 9
On February 9 we saw the deployment of the latest EVE Online release which introduced Skill Trading in EVE Online between player characters. We also saw a new default camera view with features such as first person view, marquee select, and improved zoom. Patch notes and discussion threads are available as well!

Video contest for the next o7 show
The next o7 show will air on Thursday, February 25, and with Fanfest drawing closer we would like to challenge you to a festive contest! Tell us what your favorite thing is about EVE Fanfest in less than 10 seconds! PLEX prizes, SKINS and eternal fame are waiting for you!

EVE's new logging tool, LogLite, is now available
A new and improved log viewing application known as LogLite is now available! This new, cross platform tool also improves accessibility of our log viewer and has support for both Cider and Wine logging. You can easily access LogLite from the settings menu in the game launcher. Also check out the discussions.

Fanfest 2016: Alliance attendance prize draw!
Alliances coming to Fanfest in fleets of 10 or more will be entered into a prize draw (check out the previous announcement)! Alliances with 20 or more members have double chances. The three leading alliances are now Goonswarm (16), Pandemic Legion (16), and CVA (12). Ticket holders, make sure that you have set your alliance affiliation on the Eventbrite tickt site!

March release on March 8
Speed changes and Orbit paths
When you use the orbit command and your speed or orbit radius changes, the plane of the orbit will no longer re-randomize. This means you will no longer switch direction when turning on a propulsion module, and stasis webifiers will no longer cause direction changes. The orbit command will no longer freak out whenever your speed changes, which should bring it in line with reasonable expectations for how it should behave.

Heavy Stasis Grapplers
This is a new module for battleships and capital ships: a powerful short range webifier that has a falloff mechanic. At optimal+1x falloff, the modules has half of full strength. At the moment there are no plans for similar warp scramblers. Interestingly enough, black hole wormhole effect will effect these modules (black hole environment).

Target Painter Tiericide
Target Painters will receive a significant range buff (mostly in falloff, but with optimal increases as well). This should help emphasize the main distinguishing advantage that these modules have over stasis webifiers for amplifying damage application. We're also buffing the Republic Fleet TPs to match their Domination counterparts, and giving the standard buff to the storyline 'Inception' painter.

Sensor Dampener Tiericide
EWAR like Sensor Dampeners are getting upgrade to our new falloff system. This will make the falloff for Sensor Dampeners work more intuitively (more like guns). As your range increases in falloff, the strength of the damp on your target will decrease. In comparison, the current version of damp falloff is chance based and rolls a virtual die to determine if you get a full strength paint or have no effect.

ECM Tiericide
ECM modules will receive only light changes and range tweaks. However, for ECM Bust modules, we are adding a new set of faction and officer bursts from the Rogue Drones. We are also rechristening the groups as "Burst Jammers" so that we can more easily distinguish between the two in bonus text

Damage Control Tiericide
Ships will receive a base 33% hull resistance default (including freighters) while Damage Controls will receive a considerable nerf (going to 40% for T2 and 30% for T1). This will result in a significant EHP buff to ships that can't or don't fit Damage Controls. We are also adding faction and officer versions of Damage Controls
and make Damage Controls passive modules.

Stasis Webifier Tiericide
Faction webs have been adjusted so that none are "strictly" better than any other. Some stats are going to be more highly prized than others so values will not be even, but that's fine. The important thing is that each faction web variant now has a useful niche. Republic Fleet webs have been added as well because, of course, the Republic Fleet should make webs.

Damage Module Tiericide
The biggest impact of these changes will be the addition of lower-CPU damage modules. Under the old stats, there is very little reason to use anything below T2, which is better in every way. Compact Gyrostabs, Heat Sinks, Magstabs and Drone Damage Amplifier will now be available with just 25 CPU required. T1 damage modules are also being given a significant buff to reduce the gap between them and higher-tier modules. Minmatar/Angel BCS are now also out of the wilderness and getting buffed so that they are at the same level as the Caldari/Guristas equivalents.

Cap Battery Tiericide
These modules (for a long being the crappy cousins of all the excellent capacitor modules) receive a new Capacitor Warfare Resistance attribute. This Capacitor Warfare Resistance is stacking penalized with multiple copies of itself and generally works just like armor and shield resistances from normal hardeners. The capacitor benefit of these modules has been increased quite a bit, and their fitting significantly adjusted (generally increasing powergrid usage and reducing cpu). We do expect that in some cases people may fit undersized Cap Batteries simply to maximize their resistance. However as long as the capacitor bonus is significant enough (and we believe it probably is, but SISI testing is of course required) you'll still want to fit the largest cap battery possible for your given fitting room. Faction cap batteries for the Republic Fleet, Dominations, and Thukker Tribe have been added.

Tracking Module Tiericide
Remote Tracking Computers (RTC) are getting a sizable set of changes. The cycle times have been unified at 12 second, tech 1 has been buffed significantly, and the base range of the modules has been increased by a large margin (including the addition of falloff). Ships that have inherent boni to support remote tracking will be adjusted accordingly.

Sensor and ECCM Module Merger/Tiericide
These changes are pretty huge, and include a complete merger of all ECCM into their respective Sensor...

When this next happens, please file a bug report in-game from the F12 menu! This will submit your logs, which will be helpful for diagnosing the issue.

The folks at CCP should be very clear that the "New Launcher" does not support WIndows Vista. When the old launcher is no longer there we will either upgrade the OS if we encounter a launcher issue... or stop playing EvE.

The new launcher was not even tested on the older OS's during programming as they were no longer supported platforms.

When issues were pointed out it was looked into but to this date no fix in the new launcher was made available for those of us on older systems/OS's like myself that encountered issues with the logging onto the various EvE servers on the new launcher.

Even installation of a second client for EvE was not functioning as the new launcher is the default method for downloading/installing EvE itself. Not about to risk actually deleting my current eve install.

Mind you the old launcher and the game itself work perfectly.

Keeping the old version of the launcher for those that need it would be appreciated if this is in the realm of possibility.

Whomever thought that the "new launcher" is an improvement (graphics wise) over the old should be taken out and shot. It is simply horrible. Can the old launcher style not be retained as an option at least?
