Make a plan.

I will do the following:

PLAN A

1) keep 1 pvp character and join some pvp corporation
2) download No Mans Sky when it comes out
3) PVP in EVE to sooth my lust for blood, explore in No Mans Sky to sooth my lust for discoveries.

PLAN B
1) get 1 miner and mine the rocks of EVE
2) download Star Citizen and do pvp
3) Try to lead a small mining corp in empire to sooth my lust for building

BACK UP PLAN (in case all else fails)
1) get married (OH GAWD OH GAWD!!!!)

ROFL, the great savior Star Citizen. Its developer (one guy) is preoccupied with crowd funding and hasn't spent much effort on the actual game. Rumor has it some of his handling of funds is leading to several investigations which may result in arrest, and seizure of what funds there are. So much for the Messiah of MMOs.

On the other hand...yet another, download "this" when it's released SAVIOR! Yay!
Throw it in the pile with the other tawdry, pedestrian saviors that have come down the pike:

Archeage

ESO

FFXIV

SWTOR

c'mon...the list is endless, help me out here....

Civil discourse is uniquely human. After all, when is the last time a pride of lions and a herd of water buffalo negotiated SOV over a watering hole? Never. Someone either gets their ass kicked or eaten. At the end of the day someone holds SOV.

"I'm sick with EVE" - 'EVE has infected me and now I'm sick' (or, perhaps, metaphorically, 'I'm so obsessed with EVE I can't get enough of it').

"I'm sick of EVE" - 'I've played EVE for a while, but I'm bored of it now'.

Knowing the correct use of prepositions is most definitely a good thing. Big smile

Well, in a wold where actual English is being overtaken by EAFL (English As Foreign Language), the abbility to decipher EAFL is becoming more and more relevant to people who only speak English. P

That's lots of practicing (since 2003) and ignoring how bad is my grammar and how my Spanish habit of writing long sentences is uncomfortable to English-only speakers.

I am native speaker of two languages, plus English, plus some rusty French from my school years, plus a little bit of reading understanding of Portuguese and Italian.

You may or may not have guessed that I'm an EFL/ESL teacher IRL. Lol

Native speakers of English, generally speaking (and in my experience), don't need to decipher what non-native speakers say - it seems to be more of finding a tolerance for mistakes, inappropriate usages, and whatnot. It sounds ******, but there you go. As an experiment, try swearing in English when in conversation with a native speaker, and watch how they react - it's sometimes interesting, to say the least!

I think that that's more a personality-thing than an actual linguistic disconnect; native speakers of English are perfectly comfortable with run-on sentences, as long as they are punctuated correctly. One eternal problem I have with my German students (despite endless coaching and chiding) is that, they tend to use, commas in the most, flamboyant way, possible. Another problem, particularly amongst Japanese and Korean students, would go something like this:

I have an idea.

So I want to write about it.

I have to then assign a single sentence, on a single line.

For each part of what I want to say.

And I always have to press 'enter'.

Big smile

Of course, not everyone is like this, but it does make for fun stories. Big smile

I really don't see how people can be so naive to think that Star Citizen is actually coming out. In the best case they will get some pitiful space simulator, in the worst case they won't see their money ever again.

Or just find yourself an understanding and open minded partner who appreciates that games can be as much of a hobby or interest as any other pastime? Why should you have to choose?

If you are trying to list just random MMOGs - it sure is. If you are trying to list games that bear any resemblance to anything one might like about Eve, it's fairly short. AA seemed like a decent contender for a while, but they messed it up.
