Do unallocated SP count towards SP limit?

My main had 46m SP, and I extracted 2m SP, and injected 1.6m (losing 400k). So I now have 1.6m unallocated SP.

But my character sheet still says I have 44m SP. So can I continue injecting and gaining 400k SP forever as long as my allocated SP stays below 50m?

Unallocated is a separate amount. So what you say looks correct.

You can test it if you want, just add a few unallocated sp to a skill.

Edit:

Rereading I see your point.

You can test that too, by going over the 50k limit with a combined total. I suspect the injectors work on the sum total of the sp of allocated and unallocated.

The dev blog says "total skillpoints". I infer that to mean both allocated and unallocated SP. But the character sheet only provides a total of allocated SP. I hope CCP clarifies this confusion.

It also shows the unallocated points if you've injected them at the top of the skill page in green text.

Can't you just jump on Sisy, test this and give us the results?

I tested this, I injected 3 which pushed me back over 50mill
(51 before ripping out those filthy mining skills)
And then a fourth before allocating any of the first three,

Still got less from the fourth.

Total amount of SP associated with a character, allocated and unallocated, determines how many skill points you receive from an injector. That has been confirmed by multiple people.

< 5 million total skillpoints = 500,000 skillpoints per injector
5 million – 50 million total skillpoints = 400,000 skillpoints per injector
50 million – 80 million total skillpoints = 300,000 skillpoints per injector
> 80 million skillpoints = 150k skillpoints per injector

The real question is:
If you have a new character and you use 100 injectors at the same time, do you get 500k per injector, because at the time you have low SP, or does it take that into account and give you a total that includes the diminishing returns?

no you will still be penalized per level, when i had the stack of 4 and selected to add all the popup informed me i was getting the same total ,
i opted not to do that as i was still mulling over jacking them into my alt.
