Hello everyone!
We're planning a huge set of module tiericide in our March release and this thread will serve as the feedback location for changes to Target Painters.

This is a class of modules that I've been especially nervous about touching for a fairly unusual reason: names. Their current names are one of my favorite old EVE easter eggs, and I know many of you share that opinion. We do plan to change the names of the modules to more closely match other "named" modules in the new system, but rest assured that their old names will live on in special descriptions for the modules.

As for the actual numbers, the biggest change is that we're giving the Target Painters a significant range buff (mostly in falloff, but with optimal increases as well). This should help emphasize the main distinguishing advantage that these modules have over stasis webifiers for amplifying damage application.

We're also buffing the Republic Fleet TPs to match their Domination counterparts, and giving the standard buff to the storyline 'Inception' painter.

Here's the most recent iteration of the numbers:

We're very interested in your feedback on all these changes. We'll be releasing them to Singularity next week if all goes well, so that you can try these and all the other module changes planned for the March release. Please use this thread for passing along your feedback, and we'll be reading.

Thanks!

Why no officer target painters? It's a fun module that people would like to find/purchase. I don't think a 34-39% bonus would be game breaking.

Any chance we'll see that high slot target painter that was once in the data files of a patch but never made it in game?

There are many ships with a free high slots after weapons, and there would be nice fitting alternatives and tradeoffs ...

It looks like you're also reducing the Signature Radius Modifier. The "Phased" version, for example, currently gives 30% mod to sig radius. In your table, it will be reduced to 27.5?

While, that's fine, I can go T2 to get the 30+%... you made no mention of this in your sales pitch as you did in your other tiericide posts.

Grrrrr... Domination TPs are going to take a serious price hit.
And another vote for Officer variants (long overdue). Maybe as a high slot option only?

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Fozziepls

When making these posts, you need to include what the change in values will be.

Example Module II
PG: 150 (+5)
CPU: 12 (-1)

That or include a second picture showing what the values currently are.

It makes it much harder to give easy feedback when we're tabbing back and forth between Osmium type comparison pages.

Also RIP PWNAGE. You shall be sorely missed.

This is the complete opposite of what I was hoping with TPs.

RIP TPs.
Thinking this is intentional to make MGCs more viable.
Really should have gone another direction with TPs..

Well... "Go Golem". Combined with the new hull resists the Golem got a nice buff. I like the new optimal and falloff values for Faction TPs. Not a fan of the Domination TP losing its edge, however. And I'm still less than thrilled about the stealth BCS nerf.

i think the 90km falloff and 36km optimal is excessive here, especially as the main motivation is power creep so people use them over webs, kind of suggests webs need a nerf ( especially recon range bonuses).

T3's need to be versatile so no rigs are necessary ... they should not have OP dps and tank

ABC's should be T2, remove drone assist, separate HAM's and Torps range, -3 HS for droneboats

Nerf web strength, Make the blaster Eagle worth using

It's only a 6k boost to optimal (20%). The change to falloff is more dramatic, but there really wasn't a long-range option for boosting damage application. So I like the changes (just waiting for the purple variants).

Yet you renamed the "phased weapon navigation array generation extron" which was the best one.

But in its essence very nice changes once again. Fozzie you've been doing well lately (alongside the rest of your team). It is almost making up for the terrible skill trading.
