I used the repair.exe in my eve folder. Now it is working.

Incompatible (build)...

Tried everything to get the update started and nothing seemed to work. Tried rescache as a last resort and its now downloading a 4gig update.

4gig seems a little large for an unannounced patch. will update this post if it solves anything.

If you are running the new launcher and getting incompatible build open up settings, shared cache, and use the verify option. It will then download any missing or corrupt files and remove all "extra files". When its done close the new launcher, wait a bit, and re-open the new launcher, it should then download a single file. After that you should be able to play.

If you are using the old launcher or exefile.exe then instead of using verify just use the repair tool.

note: I had 3.86gb of corrupted files (about 20,000 files total iirc) - so it takes longer to download even if you have a fast connection, about 15 mins for me on a 75 mega bit connection.
