I want interested in trying my hand at running c4's with my alts and I. Is it do-able to run sites in 2 RR tengus with a 3rd alt siege boosting at a pos? Would a cataclysmic affect be enough to make this possible? Any tips and pointers would be very much appreciated.

Short answer 2 x good tengu with decent booster will be fine for C4s, once you get used to managing the neuting that happens. It won't be super-quick but also not excruciatingly slow. 6HML tengu may havesome trouble tanking the tougher spawns, I did, but you may find it ok and so enjoy the extra DPS that provides.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

No probs. My earlier posting wasn't a direct answer to your question, but it did seem to be responding to issues related to yours.

Don't be too quick to jump to C4 tho. I could clear everything there but, because of the lower overall site spawn rate, my C4 income was less than any of my C3s.

Of course, if you're planning to use the C4 primarily as a base for neighbour-farming then it may be a completely different story.
