Out of Pod Experience

I've heard of people disliking particular words before, but I recently met a young lady who physically wretched if someone within earshot uttered the word 'mole'.

Does anyone else have a similar reaction to a particular word? If you can't bear to type it, give a clue.

I dislike 'booth' and 'meats'. They don't make me vom though.

I can strongly relate to this topic. I think the ugliest-sounding word in the English language is gland. Not the meaning, just the sound of it. Try saying it out loud and just listen.
Girl is not so euphonious either. What a harsh sounding word to mean the younger females of the species.
I never cared much for the sound of egg either.

I think I'm spotting a pattern, maybe it's hard g sounds that sound ugly to me. (Ugly-- That's another g one. But it sounds like what it describes, so that's pretty perfect). If we could replace those gs with their cousin ks, those words could sound nice. Kland - Sounds a little cleaner and more upright. Kirl - Kind of cute sounding, but not over cute. Ekk - Again, cleaner, more alert, less pragmatic, grubbing for bodily sustenance-like.

(P.S. Francais, does it have any ugly-sounding words? Consider the beautiful champignon-- which is just a humble common mushroom).

A few British slang words for female genitalia make me cringe upon hearing them. I won't post them here as it may be against the rules.
