Thank you so much! I didn't know that. I was misled by the effect in assuming there was a period of sensor 'fuzziness'.

Man, how do we newbies even survive this stuff! LOL! Shocked

You don't , thankfully you're immoral Blink

Uedama is pretty much the ganking capital of highsec these days, you'll find CODE. and Goons ganking freighters in that area regularly.

I'd heard that before but for the last 2 weeks I've been flying that route, Uedama has been pretty quiet. Thus the 'weirdness' of it.

I have to admit, seeing all those large Jump Freighters with military escorts cruising around was pretty cool.

I stay away from autopilot if I can help it at all. I can only wish I get good enough to have a ship carrying 'billions' at some point... LOL! Thanks for the enlightenment.

There's been some drama in the mercenary scene of late with a lot of it centring around marmite (who have owned uedama for years) and I think that's what's been up with the system the last couple of weeks.
it's been suspiciously quiet there for too long What you are seeing is a return to form, business as usual so to speak.

Thanks again. Now I know to be a little more paranoid going through there. I avoid it with my freighter/ore carrier, but usually cruise through there with fast point and shoot ships like my Atron. Maybe I'll just keep it fitted out for that run until I have enough skill to handle an Ares.

Always learning... thanks everyone!

(BTW, thanks for the "Immoral" comment, I think you meant "Immortal" but I laughed at the other way!)

Yea to be fair, I doubt they'll last long... which is why I didn't report it. And, in Jita, it looks like players are already anchoring more depots to turn the cross into a different shape until the timers expire.

Still pretty stupid. Players shouldn't have to be proselytized to visit a trade hub.

Not sure I'd consider just viewing a cross or seeing bible references as being proselytized. I mean if a player types in local "Allah Akhubar" in local before they try to blow me out of space am I supposed to take that as "Convert or Die" or just "Die in the name of my God" or something? Most things we see in this world are a function of our own perception. Generally speaking, if you are strong enough in your sense of self and what you believe in, nothing anyone else did in front of you or to you would have any real impact on who you were or what you believed. In other words, we choose to allow stuff to bother us or not, regardless of someone else's intent or perceived intent.

But it's not "just viewing a cross" is it? It's a 500' tall glowing red cross that dwarfs a station and contains dozens of selected Bible verses. You cannot miss it or opt out of seeing it. I mean, why do we fly spaceships in this game? Why not cars and buses? Because EVE is a sci-fi space game and to that end, immersion matters. Maybe it doesn't matter to you and that's fantastic. But I'm Yonis Kador and I can guarantee you, it ***** with my immersion. It's not like players have unlimited freedoms with speech in-game anyway. If that cross was instead a giant penis with dozens of **** jokes hovering above Jita, I'm sure CCP would remove it. In both cases all I see is someone taking a giant dump on the game I love and yea... that offends me. **** me for caring about EVE.

To be fair it is usually a 500 foot tall glowing red penis that dwarfs the station and contains dozens of selected and colourful insults .

As I've mentioned , there a permanent mercenary presence there, pay them and they will take it down .

Or just turn brackets off when approaching the station. It'll help your framerate too.

I think SP trading has me on edge haha. It's so close now. The thrust is near. I've spent the last couple weeks feeling like nobody cares about EVE anymore or that maybe I've lost perspective. New Eden seems full of complacent want-it-nows and yes men. But when I saw someone actually defending glowing Christian iconography 3x larger than a station, I just thought I'd give an enthusiastic response. I mean, wth.

I wasn't defending anything other than freedom of expression. It's up to you to be insulted or 'unimmersed' if that's a word.

To your position though, New Eden is populated by the descendents of Earth. I'm sure that all the 'Terran' religions made the transition to space and New Eden, so I'm also sure that you can role-play that into your reality and say "D#%med Christians, always having to make a statement!" in character and just move on. Having been role-playing for 35 years now, this is a pretty common thing you'll need to deal with.

Just to point out, the entire Battlestar Galactica line of Sci-Fi is heavily Christian influenced. Space and religion aren't necessarily separated and to ask them to be in Eve is probably unrealistic at best.

Weren't/aren't the Amarr Christian? Just imagine that some of their fanatics put up a cross. That doesn't really mess up the immersion then.
Roleplaying and immersion can be fun, but it shouldn't go too far. Take that stuff easier, laugh at it and warp out.

I don't much care for religion IRL. I'm quite against all of it. But the 'problem' of seeing big religious icons at any station is quickly solved when you warp away. EZ. It'll all go away in time anyway.
