Launcher copying files every time I start Eve

I was just wondering if this is something I can correct. Every time I start Eve after restarting my PC, the launcher takes about 90-120 seconds to copy files. Is this normal?

No, that's not normal. Can you send me the logs from %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\Launcher?

Same here. Launcher does it every time* on win7, but not on linux. That's why I asked why windows takes so long and linux is almost instant :)

EVE mail is fine, yes. If they're large, send me a Google Drive or Dropbox link.

Same here, Win7 Professional.
First start of EVE Launcher after System reboot most of the times (not always) takes about half a minute or more with "Copying Files" / "Please Wait". (EVE Mail with logs underway)

If I close and restart the Launcher later without reboot, it does not copy any files.

Another problem I have is that the Client sometimes takes several tries to start without immediately crashing with some ATI-related DLL error (I'm on a 2010 notebook with switchable Intel onboard / AMD ATI dedicated graphics, so I guess it's likely to be something with my system/drivers).

Yep same here. Makes it seem like it's applying a patch but then there's no new patch notes. Weird.

Every time I start up a dos promt comes up:

C:\GAMES\EVE\SharedCache\updater.exe


Any ideas?

Same for me, it copies something up to 20 seconds every time I start the new Launcher.

Windows 7 Pro.

Thanks to everyone who sent me logs and tested dev versions for me. I will post an update tomorrow that should fix the issue for those that were experiencing a 1-2 minute delay before the Play button was enabled.

It is normal, though, to see Copying files... for a few seconds, even if there is nothing to copy. The label there is perhaps misleading, what it really is doing is verifying and copying files from the ResFiles folder (where everything it downloads is stored) to the staging folder where the EVE client is run from. The launcher will verify the files once, even when there is no update and no files have changed, but the message only states Copying files.

I will fix the label in a future update, to be less misleading.
