After all those crazy delays of requirements that are never communicated appropriately to materialize,
I got 2 offers from cell phone carriers for internet services.

One , the first , is 25 mbps , on a wireless stick (would run on a laptop, with the proper external video card adapter, for around $120 for the stick and more for the adapter) , at $35 per month.
I'm already with them, so it may only be a matter of paying them.
However, this is designed to run on tablet, and is not high-speed internet.

Second, the other, is 40 mbps, and comes with a free tablet ($7 per month to run the tablet, with 1+GB of RAM), at $15 per month for 1 GB, $25 for 3 GB and $35 for 5 GB or 7 GB.

I know nothing of either systems latency (or ping rate, whether 5ms, 25ms or 40ms or 100ms),
and their consistency is worst than cable , since it runs wireless from a satellite system with nodes around town...

Either way, the price is so low that I could test both and I will test the one with the free LG GPad with Android (no keyboard though).

It apparently runs the internet via USB connection from the tablet to a USB port connector on the Desktop PC instead of connecting with the Ethernet port.
Alternately, it can also (theoretically , not tested yet, no matter how high the certainty ratio is or would be) connect on the internet via wireless system (given the desktop would have a wireless modem device connection, which it doesn't at this time).
This would work on a laptop with a wireless modem.

Builds ship in empty Quafe bottle.

Do you mean the stability and latency are too bad?

Edit:
I'm looking for EVE Online boxed package, like the Second Decade Boxed set at $150 - $200 on Amazon.

Speaking about being on drugs, how did you manage to get your avatar photo to be of a planet?

It doesn't matter, whether the plan is designed for a tablet or a laptop or any other device. If it's a satellite connection (not 100% clear on that), it will be shite for playing anything, due to the crazy latency.

If it's a mobile (phone) connection, you may be able to play somewhat, but you should be prepared for connection losses and lag.

Best thing would be to try, do your providers have a delay of retractation ?

I'm trying that too, I live in a city so the signal (4G or LTE its called) is good enough to stay stable, and the speed even with up and down is always faster than the cable one that i had until now.

The mobile modem I got is horrible for a desktop pc though, there's no router in this pocket modem and it provides its internet only via wifi, that means I need two wireless signal from my computer to the internet, so the ping is a little higher but nothing preventing to play EVE.

Speed doesnt really matter when playing Eve. Eve uses very little bandwidth. What matters is latency and satellites have the worse latency of any internet service. You would be better on dial up than satellite.

Confirmed: You can actually lose IQ points by reading a thread in a forum on the internet.

Yes, well, there are a few changes, one being that , I now have 3 offers for internet and no longer 2.

The other change is that, one offer I had to run on a tablet required another credit than I had ,
or would have only been valid when I got my new credit.

I find it rather discriminating since they are offering free tablet, but it makes no sense.

However, that is a 3rd connection possible at $260 total ($100 deposit back after 3 months, plus a $160 tablet, worth $240, as if...)

Second, I got a $15 offer for a $50 phone connection type of modem running on a network of type:
HSPA + 3.5g
or something like that.
It only has 1.5 mbps to 15 mbps.
Their download capacity per month is unlimited and there is no cap for the speed once a certain level is reached.

I think I may take the offer for the 25 mbps which i will verify comparison with the other network info about before paying.
However, I already deal with that company, even if I have to go a little bit further to get a $50 wireless modem stick.
I think they charge $35 per month for 10 GB of data download per month.
I think it's throttled over 10 GB, or I don't know what else is offered.

I hope to get the internet running tonight.

EVE doesn't need a high bandwidth connection and it's pretty tolerant of high latency. What it does need, though, is a reliable connection.

Seriously, stop considering phone and sattlite as serious providers of internet. They aren't made for online gaming, but are great if you want to check your e-mail. Phone providers usually have tons of hidden crap in their clauses, and tend to lure you in with something cheap and shiny to get you to sign.

56k modem would almost be better.
