Force Auxilary skills being seeded - thoughts?

So with the release of the patch notes today it appears the racial Force auxilary skill books are being seeded on the market.

I am guessing this means those of us with carrier 5(s) have to spend another 35-50 days training the new racials to 5?

Seems pretty harsh for those who have spent 100 or so days training carrier 5 and t2 triage

i agree but there is no mention of it in the patch notes, just that the skills will be seeded - i was under the impression there was gonna be at least some conversion. Whether that was skills and ships or just either or.

as they have not released the FAX yet, the skill is for people who may not have carrier skills and so they are ready to be used. i assume once the FAX is dropped then they will do a convert, and if not, well the skill is there for you already

Not if its another 500m skillbook that allows one to do the same role they fill now

If thats the case then CCP should make it clear if a conversion is taking place (im guesing it isn't) i dont wanna log in on patch day with FAX level 0

But i also dont think its fair for triage pilots who have invested the time training to be in a worse position than combat carrier pilots.

How are you training 14m SP in 35 days?

I'm fine with having to train for the Fax ships even though I have Caldari and Amarr carrier to V already. I just want CCP to release want their intentions are so I can get started. This is so unlike them to not let their intentions known its getting kind of ridiculous. It is a far cry from letting us know about the destroyer and battle cruiser changes at least a year before hand and that was a lot smaller change. Not to mention letting people know they need to begin the train on command ships before the patch if you don't have the pre-reqs.

If the capital changes and citadels are really being released in April, which is 2 months away, they obviously know what they are doing. Why not tell us? I don't want to buy a FAX skill book and start training only to find out I could have switched one of my carrier skills to a FAX ship or some such thing.

Come on CCP. Let us know already.

Why? I trained to use my carrier only got the Triage/remote rep roll. I don't even rat in it. If CCP is giving the option to pilots to pick which ship type they get after Citadel, why wouldn't they do the same for the skill. Its not sensible.

If anything, it might be based off of your tactical reconfiguration skill, since that is more directly related. Would make much sense to give carrier pilots who have little interest or skill to use the new triage FAX.

It's the same for the skills for Light and Support Fighters......they put them on the market with this upcoming release but no word on what happens to people who already have that to 5? And the Fighter bomber skills, and why not bring out the Heavy Fighter skills. IMO CCP is way too silent about the details of the upcoming capital changes.

We are not talking about some Frigate skills with 1x multipliers here. And don't get me started on the potential changes to Capital EWAR. Not a single conctructive word on that yet. Some details would be appreciated so you can plan your skill queue.

Personally, I wish they do this:

- Carrier skill -> unallocated pool
- Triage skill -> unallocated pool
- Fighters skill -> unallocated pool
- maybe even Fighterbombers skill -> unallocated pool

Then seed the new skills on the market and let us decide whether to allocate back to carriers, or allocate to the "force" whatevers.

Also, if CCP really wants the "dark and gritty" universe, they shouldn't make it so easy for us to spam all the channels with "Use the force, Memphis!" "I need reps, Memphis, use the force!" "Mesa being using the force, yousa seein?" and so on.

Personally I think it's kind of fair to give current triage pilots the skill because the triage capability is being removed from carriers, but then again a Force Auxiliary is not a Carrier, but a completely new ship class.

Ultimately I'm ok with both approaches and don't blame CCP for taking the stance that it needs to be trained (if that's what they've decided).
