Whattup.

I've been off and on with Eve since beta when I came from a game called Mankind. Various life events always led me to a place where I felt I couldn't maintain the play-style to hold up the responsibilities I said I could take on in a corporation. I wanted the hardcore Eve experience and didn't have the life that let me do that.

But the truth is I never lost interest in Eve. So I'm back, and have a more mature perspective on how I can play this game.

I'm looking for a group of people who are cool with a guy who plays when he can (anywhere from 5-20 hours a week), and who knows some areas of the game, but also has giant gaps in others. I'd be looking for a laid-back atmosphere where people make it comfortable for someone like me to ask questions without feeling like an idiot.

I've gone for a fresh start to 'relearn' parts of the game that have changed since I was last around. So I have a pretty new character. I'm about two weeks old in the game now, I've run the career agents, and the SOE epic arc up to a point. I run L2 missions in a Caracal with a fit I ripped from the Eve Uni wiki. I do short loops around my base of operations, scanning for relic and data sites. I take my Venture out to mine so I can build missiles because I enjoy the idea of self-sufficiency, while totally realizing I could buy from the market with more efficiency.

But I'd really like to learn more about the game, enjoy some company, and maybe do some group things where I can.

I'm 29.765 years old. I'm in the US, so that last sentence means the '765' is a fraction of 1. I'm a software engineer with a job that lets me type out recruitment posts on a game forum during the day. I have a certain set of skills that I don't mind using if a corporation is out there that has some tooling they want me to take a look at. I have a fiance I live with who would prefer I spend my time looking at tuxedos to rent.
